I know I'm not perfect. But I think there is a(n) 1 aspect of my own weaknesses, for they seem to bring joy to others. Or maybe it's just that I underestimate(低估)the seriousness of my own 2 . I might be like the man driving a car with a sign that read. "Hang up and drive." A police officer was 3 to spot the sign, as he had witnessed too many 4 caused by motorists talking on mobile phones. The woman left her 10 on the table but didn't know that until they were back on the highway. Her husband 11 all the way back to the restaurant. They 12 arrived, and as the woman got out of the car to get her glasses, the old man said, "While you're there, you may as well get my hat, too."
Psychologist Carl Jung once pointed out this phenomenon of seeing others' 13 more clearly than our own. "Everything that makes us angry with others can lead us to a(n) 14 of ourselves."
So, what would happen if we'd look at other people's faults and humps as a gift? After all, they're teaching us about ourselves. And that's what makes us 15 from camels.

第一节 阅读理解(共20小题;每小题2分,满分40分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D项中,选出最佳选项。

Everyone knows there are many English expressions about clothes. There is no need to keep it a secret, or keep it under your hat. In fact, if I keep talking, soon enough you will start to think I am a real expert about this. Do not be fooled, though. My friends sometimes call me a wolf in sheep's clothing. This is someone who acts like a good person, but is really a bad person.
I'm not really a bad person and I do love clothes. It is always fun to get dressed up. I look great in my best clothes. You might say when I wear my best clothes. I am dressed to the nines or dressed to the teeth. In fact, my husband says I look dressed to kill. Of course, I would never kill
anyone. However, there is something special about putting on clothes that are pleasing to the eye.
My best clothes are not modern or fashionable. Maybe someday they will come into fashion. But I really do not care. They certainly look better on me than my birthday suit. Do you know that
everyone has a birthday suit? You wear it when you are wearing no clothes at all. Babies are born
wearing their birthday suits.
I love my clothes and handle them with kid gloves. I handle them with caution (小心) and never get them dirty or tom. They fit perfectly. But when I eat too much, I feel like my clothes might burst at the seams(线缝).My clothes feel too tight.
Some of the clothes I like best are hand-me-downs. My older sister gave them to me when she no longer wanted them. Hand-me-downs are great because clothes often cost too much money. I live on a shoestring (以极少的钱). I have very little money to spend on clothes. However, my sister has a lot of money to spend on clothes.

Matt Lauer quizzed Derek Amato about his amazing experiences on The Today Show. Amato displays strong abilities after suffering head injuries. After years of failed jobs and homelessness, the 40-year-old man is now enjoying a career in music and can play eight instruments - in spite of never having any music lesson in his life.
He has now retold the surprising moment when he was attracted by a friend's piano after the accident in October 2006 and immediately began playing. He explained that he knew what to play as he could see black and white keys in his head. "That's my notation (乐谱)," he said. "When those black and white keys are going, that's what my hands do. I'm convinced it's my job to do it

''As I dove into the swimming pool, I remembered coming up out of the water complaining that my ears were bleeding. As I looked to my friends for explanation, I saw their lips moving but without sound. As I touched my ears to check for bleeding, I realized there was no blood, but I couldn't hear anything at all."
After collapsing (晕倒), Amato was sent to hospital and diagnosed (诊断) with serious head injuries. Doctors also found he had a permanent 35 percent loss of hearing, as well as memory loss. However, Amato told The Today Show, this is a small price to pay for what he can do now. "The headaches and the loss of hearing are the price tag for this gift," he said. I'd like it to stay. "

Keeping your goldfish in a tank which contains plants and rocks could make them cleverer, according to a new American research.
Scientists at Penn State University discovered that fish benefit from being in enriched environments. They believe that their discovery could help us know how to successfully provide a new population for our oceans and rivers. Fish kept in tanks with hiding places and floating plants showed signs of improved brain fun_ction and could better pass through mazes(迷宫) than those in a less exciting environment.
Professor Victoria Braithwaite explains that currently most fish that are bred in captivity (囚禁) do not survive once they are released into the wild. She says that, now, fisheries overcome this problem by breeding huge numbers of fish in the hope that some will survive. The professor believes that part of the reason why so many of the fish die is that they are bred in pretty boring tanks where there is always plenty of' food and no hunters meaning that they are totally unprepared for release.
Braithwaite bred 30 salmon (鲑鱼) in two separate tanks. One contained plants and rocks which were regularly changed to ensure the fish did not feel bored, while the other was empty. Researchers discovered when fish were raised in the enriched tank, parts of their brains changed and they could escape from a maze more quickly than fish raised in the standard tank. When the researchers placed the salmon in a maze, the fish raised in the enriched tank made fewer mistakes when trying to escape the maze. The brains of the fish from the enriched tank were also different from the fish raised in the standard tank, according to the researchers. They noted that increased expressions of a gene in the fish's brain are suggestion of increased brain fun_ction and growth.
41. What might be the best title for the passage?
A. Studies on the behavior of fish
B. The importance of environment
C. How to keep goldfish in a tank
D. How to make your fish cleverer
42. Which group of fish might be cleverer?
A. The fish that are bred in pretty boring tanks.
B. The fish that are bred in standard tanks.
C. The fish that are bred in enriched environments.
D. The fish that are bred in unexciting environments.
43. How do fisheries overcome the low fish survival problem?
A. By breeding them in captivity.
B. By breeding them in quantity.
C. By killing their enemies.
D. By giving them plenty of food.
44. What suggests the fish's brain fun_ction and growth?
A. The enriched tanks.
B. Gene expressions.
C. The standard tanks.
D. The mazes.
45. The research led by Braithwaite shows that______.
A. when fish were raised in the enriched tank, their brains completely changed
B. fish raised in the enriched tank didn't make mistakes when trying to escape the maze
C. brains of the fish in the enriched tank were the same as those raised in the standard tank

基础写作 (One possible version)
The similarities between classical music and pop music are that both of them can make people feel relaxed and enjoy life better and that they have large numbers of fans. However, the differences are also obvious, one of which is that they have different musical structures. Classical music stresses the logic of music while pop music is more perceptual and lacks rational thinking. Classical music is usually hard for people to understand while pop music is much easier. What’s more, classical music has lasting significance but pop music has a relatively shorter vitality.
读写任务 (One possible version)
The author tells us an embarrassing experience that he forced a young boy to give back his mobile phone. However, he later found out that he had wronged the boy.
The author’s experience reminds me of one of my own embarrassing experiences. It was last weekend when I went shopping in a supermarket. After selecting what I intended to buy, I walked towards the counter. However, it was not until I was about to pay the bill that I found that I had left my wallet at home. With other customers staring at me curiously, I was terribly embarrassed! Fortunately, one of my friends, Mark, happened to be there and helped me out by lending me some money. I really felt grateful for his generous help.
Now I can draw a lesson that whatever I do, I need to prepare well in advance so as to avoid getting into trouble.
