Everyone is different and unique, thus everyone does not learn in the same way. Here is the question: Which is better, group studying or studying alone
Studying alone allows you to set the perfect study environment so you get the most out of studying. It also allows you to use the most effective (有效的) learning methods. Some students learn best with flashcards while others learn best when they reread texts. Find your learning methods, and make your studying be the best results.
When you study alone, you’re able to pay attention to exactly what you need to learn. It’s easy to look over the: things with which you’re already comfortable: and familiar.
When you set a date and time to get together with a study group, it stops you from procrastinating (拖延) because you know other people are counting on you to be there.
When you study in a group, you can remember more information. This is because you take your notes and put the information into your own words rather than reading from a textbook. Moreover, it’s very similar to teaching the others in your group, which leads to remembering the information better.
Being with other people allows you to get different ideas about the things. Sometimes someone can say just one sentence or word and it will all make sense.
1.Do people learn differently

2.How do you avoid procrastinating

3.What are the advantages of group studying from the passage (in one sentence)

“Lying down” (also known as tang ping), has become a hot word among young Chinese people these days. The idea of low material needs and being willing to accept whatever life gives them is described as a “lying down” lifestyle.
Some young people complain that to raise a child needs too much money and they often get into a fight with their family. At the same time, the rising living costs including food and housing have pushed them so hard that they could hardly breathe. Some want to lie down because their tiring jobs, competition with peers, as well as personal relationships force them to run away.
On the other hand, with the great improvement of living conditions, it is true that some Chinese youth today have lost the spirit of fighting hard for a better life. “I stay at home, sleep and watch TV series, and I’m pleased with what I have now. Actually, there are many people around me who value happiness and freedom most,” said Daisy, who left her job two weeks ago. No wonder that some young people would choose to live a simple way instead of always following the good quality of fighting hard.
Interestingly, most young people, who are “big fans” of the “lying down” lifestyle, point out that they only accept a temporary (暂时的) lying down as a short rest. In fact, lying down is not totally comfortable for them. Most young people who lie down always regard it as a lack of ambition (雄心壮志) and feel ashamed (感到羞耻的) about it.
“Young people have both ambition and confusion (困惑) about their future, but most of us have refused to waste chances and challenges,” a college student said.
5.Do most young people really enjoy the “lying down” lifestyle according to the passage

Everyone worries. But how do you deal with your worries Whether your worries are big or small, you can take these three steps to deal with your worries:
1.Try to find out what you’re worried about
Sometimes, you may know what you’re worried about. Other times, you might not. Try to find it out first; if you can’t, you can ask for help.
2.Think of ways to make it better
There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. Sitting there worrying is no fun and it won’t solve your problem.
Grades at school are often top worries for kids. If you’re worried about grades, ask yourself these questions:
★Why are grades important What do grades mean to me
★How do I get ready for class Do I go over my notes even when there isn’t a test
★Do I have a good place to do my homework
★Have I tried different ways of studying
If your worry is about a fight you had with a friend, you might write down all the things you could do: write a note to him or her, invite him or her to a basketball game, say sorry to him or her, etc. Once you have a list of things you could do, you can choose the one that get your friend back.
3.Ask for help
When you’re worried, it can help to find someone to talk to. You can ask your parents, friends, or teachers for help.
9.Is it common to worry about our problems

10.How many steps are mentioned in the passage to deal with worries

When I was very young, people in our village lived by planting fruit trees. My grandmother always took me to the orchard (果园) on the hill. At that time, the production level of fruit was still low because it was short of water there.
One day, two young men led a group of workers to our village. They learned about the difficulties we faced, and later, canals (灌溉渠) and other projects began to be built in my village, “Who are they ” I asked. “They are good men from our government.”
Shortly afterwards, I moved to the city for my junior high school. The only reason I ever came back to my hometown was my grandmother.
One day, my family and I made time to return. We were surprised because everything had changed. The canal ran past every orchard so villagers no longer bad to go up and down the hill. The river was now so clean that fish swam happily in it. When we arrived home, my grandma took out some fresh pears and apples. She told us that after the water conservation project (水利工程) was completed, a policy (政策) was made to encourage more people to plant fruit trees to increase the fruit production.

Having an elder brother means walking in someone else’s shadow(影子), especially when he is very cool. For years I wanted to do everything my elder brother Tyson did and be cool as him. But no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t run so fast as him or play football well.
I would probably continue trying to keep up with him for the rest of my high school, but when my family moved 3 years ago, everything changed.
Tyson left for college, so I had to start at a new school all by myself. This new start gave me a chance to discover a totally new way of being cool.
I was always interested in chemistry and biology, so one day I joined in a science team. Since those interests didn’t fit Tyson’s way of “cool”, I never tried them before. On this day, for some reason, I did.
As we organized teams, prepared materials and practiced answering questions, I felt more connected than I ever had to any sports team. I didn’t have to keep up with anybody else. For the first time in my life, I actually felt cool.
Now I know who I am! I’m Tyson’s little brother, but that’s only part of me. I’m a cool guy in my own way, too. I’m glad to know that “cool” has broader(广泛的) meanings than what I used to think.

Huang Dafa, an old Chinese man from a poor village of Guizhou Province, spent 36 years building about 10 kilometers of water channels (沟渠) through three mountains. He brought water and a better life to the villagers there.
Huang Dafa was born in 1935 in Zunyi, Guizhou. His village was short of water. The villagers could only get water from a faraway well (水井). In 1959, Huang decided to solve the problem by building a long water channel through mountains.

In 1995, the villagers finished the water project and named it Dafa Channel. The water finally reached Huang’s village. Electricity and a new road also reached the village. Huang led all the three projects.

The winners of Touching China were announced on the evening of February 17, 2021. Mao Xianglin, the party secretary(党支书)of Xiazhuang, Chongqing was among them.
In 1997, 38-year-old Mao started to work in this village. 1000-meter-tall cliffs(悬崖峭壁)were around the village, and there was only one way to get out of the village for many years. It took villagers three days to walk to the nearest town. Mao decided to build a road. “We can’t stay poor forever. I’ll lead us to live a better life, even though it will be hard.” Mao said.
He led more than 100 villagers to build the road with their hands. They hung from ropes and used different kinds of tools to build the road. It took them seven years to build an eight-kilometer road. But their work has improved people’s lives. It takes just one hour to drive to the nearest town now.
Mao then encouraged the villagers to grow oranges. Last year, their orange yield(产量)was nearly 40 tons. Young people have returned to the village to sell oranges online. By the end of 2019, 269 villagers had got out of poverty(贫困).

The meaning of silence is different among different cultures.
Many people in some Asian cultures think silence is a basic part of communication. When a traditional Chinese or Thai is speaking and suddenly stops, he probably wants the listener to consider what he has said before he continues. Many people may think silence is a sign of respect, especially to an elder or a person with power.
Western cultures may use silence in other ways. In America, if you keep silent in a conversation, the speaker may think you’re impolite or not listening to them carefully. Russian, French, and Spanish persons may use silence to show they agree with the discussion of the topic. However, Mexicans may keep silent when instructions are given by a person with a lot of power, even though they don’t agree with the instructions.
In our daily life, if we know the exact meaning of one’s silence, it’s quite helpful, too. A man was ill in hospital. One morning, when the nurse said “Hello!” to him, he said “Hello!” back. “How are you feeling now ” the nurse continued. But the man lay in bed and looked at the nurse, saying nothing. “Not well, right Then I will check it for you, OK ” the patient was still silent. Then the nurse passed him a cup of warm water. He drank it quickly. After that, the nurse checked up his health. “Mr. Smith, your blood pressure is a little high. But don’t worry, you’ll soon be well again after taking some medicine.” The man smiled and said, “You’re the best nurse I’ve ever met.” You see, this is how silence works.

Holidays play an important part in our life. We work hard during the year, so we feel tired and stressed at times. We need holidays to relax, even if they only last for a few days. This is especially true for women. They could get away from their husbands, children and family for even one week in the year.
Holidays have many good results. Firstly, they can improve the economy (经济). If there were no holidays. people would have little time to spend their money. Secondly, holidays allow people to relax after working hard a whole year. During and after the holidays, people feel more relaxed and are full of energy; they then bring this energy to work when they continue working. Lastly, holidays help people learn how to enjoy life. Most people improve their relationships with their other family members during holidays.
However, holidays also have some bad sides. People couldn’t enjoy travelling because of the heavy traffic. Besides, people couldn’t have fun shopping because of too many people.
