1. Why was Nancy’s mom angry with her
Nancy wanted to watch TV first before taking the dog out for a walk. Nancy watched TV all the time and never helped out around the house.

Yes, they did. Both Nancy and her mother did not do any housework for a week. The house got so messy that Nancy could not even find a clean dish or a clean shirt. She decided to do the housework to make the house clean and tidy again. Nancy said sorry to her mother. She finally understood that they needed to share the housework to have a clean and comfortable home.

the minute在此引导时间状语从句，意为“一……就……”，相当于as soon as。
