直接询问对方年龄常用“How old are you?”其同义句: What’s one’s age 回答为“I'm+数字(years old).”其中years old可以省略;询问他人年龄用“How old is she/he/your...?”回答为“She/He/My...is+数字(years old).”。但在西方国家个人年龄是隐私,询问别人的年龄被认为是不礼貌的。

【总结】介词in的用法:(1) 表示在某年、某月、某个季节,在上午、下午或晚上等。eg:in 2018 在2018年in the morning在上午

(2) 表示地点、场所(多指较大的地方)。如果是小地点则用at。

(3) 表示穿着,戴着(衣服、帽子等)。

一、序数词
1. 定义:
表示事物的顺序的数词叫序数词。它的作用相当于名词或形容词,可作主语、宾语、定语或表语。
2. 构成:
基数词要变为序数词是有规律可循的,其方法及具体示例如下:
规律 示例
twenty—twentieth
thirty—thirtieth
six—sixth
seventeen—seventeenth
1~19,一般在基数词后加-th
20~90之间的整十的序数词是把对应的基数词末尾的y变为ie,再加-th
20以后的非整十的两位或两位以上的基数词变为序数词时,只将个位数变为序数词
twenty-two—twenty-second
特殊变化的基数词1、2、3、5、8、9、12等需单独记忆
one—first two—second three—third five—fifth
eight—eighth nine—ninth
twelve—twelfth
巧记歌诀
基变序,有规律。 1,2,3,特殊记;
结尾时,t,d,d; 从第4,加 th;

3. 序数词的缩写
序数词都有缩写形式:在阿拉伯数字后加该序数词的最后两个字母。示例如下:
first → 1st second → 2nd
third → 3rd fifth → 5th
thirty-eighth → 38th
4. 序数词的用法
(1) 序数词前一般要加定冠词the,尤其是单独使
用时;表日期时,the可以省略;与不定冠词
a/an连用时,表示“又一;再一”。
这是第三个问题。

(2) 序数词作名词的定语,一般前面要加the,但如果
名词前有形容词性物主代词、名词所有格或指示代
词等限定词时,则不用the。
例:这是你第二次来中国吗

(4) 用基数词和序数词表示编号、顺序时,名词和数词
的位置和大小写是有区别的:
名词 + 基数词 = the + 序数词 + 名词。

(3) 表示分数时,分子用基数词,分母用序数词。当分
子大于1时,分母的序数词要用复数形式。

二、名词所有格
英语中,用来表示所属关系的语法形式叫作名词所有格,它有“’s所有格”“of 所有格”和双重所有格三种形式。
(1) 构成
①一般情况下,在单数名词后加“’s”。

拓展:以-s结尾的人名后加“’”或“’s”。

② 以-s结尾的复数名词加“’”,不以-s结尾的复数
名词加“’s”。

③ 同一事物为多人共有时,只把最后一个名词变所
有格;多个事物为多人各自所有时,每个名词都
要变所有格。

(2)用法
① 表示人或其他有生命的物体的名词的所属关系,
可用’s所有格。
例:这是辛迪的外套。 This is Cindy’s coat.
② 表示时间、距离、价格时,可用’s所有格。
例:工作十小时后,我非常累。
After ten hours’ work, I’m very tired.
③表示住所、商店或办公场所等时,’s所有格后
通常不出现它所修饰的名词。

(1) 构成:名词+of+名词
(2) 用法:多用于表示无生命的事物的名词的所属关系。

注意:“’s所有格”有时可与“of所有格”互换。

(1) 构成:名词+of+’s 所有格/名词性物主代词
(2) 用法:表示整体中的一部分
