INTRODUCTION AND READING
I. Analysis of Teaching
PART 1: Analysis of the teaching material
A. Lesson style and function
This lesson is designed as a reading lesson which is about the development of the Internet and the inventor of it. It is the first part of this module. After this lesson, the students will know how to analyze a reading article by themselves. At the same time, they will grasp the ways of reading. In addition, the students will remember some useful words. The lesson will also arose Ss’ emotion of contribution.
B. Teaching Aims
Knowledge aim: To have the students learn about the ways of reading.
Ability aim: To train students’ reading ability.
Moral aim: To call on students to love new technology and learn from Tim Berners-Lee for his contribution to the world.
C. Key and difficult points
Key points: Help students to understand the reading material. Difficult points: Grasp some reading methods.
D. Teaching aids
a multimedia, exercise paper
PART 2 : Analysis of students
The high school students have good thinking ability and good foundation in English. Besides, the students are tired of the busy studying life, so they are eager for a chance to relax themselves. So I designed a lot of activities to stimulate students’ English learning interest and encourage them to speak and think more.
PART 3 : Teaching guiding ideology and methods
Teaching theories:
1. Make students the real masters in class while the teacher acts as a helper.
2. Guide students to change knowledge into ability.
3. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning English.
Teaching methods:
1. Students–centered Method
2. Task-based Method
3. Inspiring Method
4. Cooperative Method

Step One: Greetings
Step Two: Lead-in and introduction (8m)
Step Three: Reading comprehension (30m)
Step Four : Summary (3m)
Step Five : Free talk (3m)
Step Six: Homework (1m)
Step One: Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step Two: Lead-in
I will use some pictures of a computer on the screen to attract students’ interest. Let them see the pictures and say something about it. Then, by looking at the pictures on the screen, we will talk about the usage of the Internet.
At last, ask them whether they know the inventor of the Internet
Purpose:
Stimulate students’ interest and make class lively and interesting. At the same time, learn some words in the introduction part and lead to the topic of this lesson.
Step Three: Reading comprehension
1. Listening
2. Careful reading
①True or False questions
②Teamwork
③Retell
④Fill in the blanks .
Purpose :
Let students understand the meaning of this reading part and grasp some reading methods. At the same time, inform the students of the inventor of the Internet and learn from him.
Step Four: Summary .
Step Five: Free Talk
Let students imagine the development of the internet and what will happen in the future in IT field.
Step Six: Homework
Search the Internet and find out some information about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.
