Step 1 Warm up
Let’s enjoy an English poem.
It’s easy to speak along with. Try to get Ss to be interested in this class. On the other hand, it can help to lead the students to be the best.
Step 2 Presentation
Show some pictures and let the students speak out the comparatives and superlatives.
Play a guessing game to help the students to consolidate the comparatives and superlatives.
Let’s discuss.
T: Do you like to go to the movies Who do you want to go with
(Suppose students can go to the movies with one of the stars. Give them some pictures of stars and let them choose who they will go together with and give their reasons.)
T: Now you have a partner to go together with. But which cinema do you want to go to? Or what’s the best movie theater What are the important things for you when choosing which movie theater to go to (Show some pictures and discuss the important things.)
Then get some students to share their ideas about how to choose the movie theater.
Step 3 Listening

This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken English.
Read the instructions. Point to the Qualities column and the Movie theater column in the chart. Tell students that they will hear three conversations talking about three theaters.
Ask the students to listen carefully and match the statements with the movie theaters.
Check the answers.
Step 4 Practice & Consolidation
1. Let’s compare.
Show some pictures and information about cinemas. Ask students to make comparisons and discuss preferences.
2. Pairwork.
There are three clothes stores near your home. If you go shopping, which one will you go to?(Show some pictures about the three clothing stores and let students make conversations according to the tips)
3. Have a quick discussion about the students.

4. Hand out some papers. Ask students to write down the comparatives and superlatives of the words given.

In this class, we’ve learnt the new words and phrases. We did listening practice and learned the target language. What’s important, we’ve learnt to make comparisons and discuss preferences. Through pair work, we practiced our spoken English using what we learnt today.

Finish the papers.
