【观察】
Could you please take the dog for a walk 能请你出去遛遛够吗?
Could I watch one show first 我能先看个节目吗?
Finally, I could not find a clean dish or a clean shirt.最后,我找不到一个干净的餐具或者一件干净的衬衫。
【小结】在本单元中,情态动词could用于有礼貌地提出要求或请求许可,用于疑问句,代替can,在时间上与can没有区别,但语气要比can 温婉,有礼貌。回答时要用can,不用could.除此以外,可定回答还可以用Sure/Certainly/Yes,sure./No problem/With pleasure 等。否定回答还可以用I’m afraid not .等
Could 用于第二人称,表示委婉地提出请求。常用句型为“Could you (please)+_______... ”意为“(请)你做······好吗?”。
肯定回答用:Yes,sure./ Yes, I can./ Of course, I can./ No problem./ With pleasure.
否定回答用:Sorry, I can’t. I have to…/ Sorry, I’ m going to…/ I am afraid I can’t. I have to…

Could 的其他用法:
could 为can 的过去式,表示能力。
eg:Could the girl read before she went to school
He said that he couldn’t come .
表示惊异,怀疑,不相信等态度,主要用于否定句和疑问句,此时could 与can 无时间上区别,但语气比can 缓和,情绪要弱。
eg:He couldn’t /can’t be over fifty.
Who could /can have taken it
表示可能性,指对将来,现在或过去某种可能的推测。语法探究情态动词could的语法
2`,…..because Mom will be back from shopping any minute now ….因为妈妈随时都会买完东西回来。
any minute now 是一种常见的口语表达,相当于“随时,马上 ,在任何时候”的意思。表示事情有可能在极短的时间内发生或眼下就要发生,minute 还可用second ,moment ,time等词替换。
Eg: We are expecting them any moment now.我们期待他们随时到来。
3.I think two hours of TV is enough for you!我认为两个小时的电视对你来说足够了!
此处,two hours of TV 虽为复数,但却表达一种整体的概念。英语语法规定:当时间、长度、距离或其他可数名词表示一个完整的概念用作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。这时主谓一致中值得注意的地方。
Eg:Two months is a long holiday. 两个月是一个长假。
Twenty kilos is so heavy. 2 0公斤并不太重。
4.And she won’t be happy if she sees this mess. 如果她看到乱成这样,她会不高兴的。

Eg: The room was in a mess.

注:make a mess弄脏;搞成一团糟
eg:The kids made a mess in the living room.孩子们把客厅搞得一塌糊涂。

the minute (that)… as soon as 一…就
eg:I want to see him the minute /as soon as he arrives.他一到我就要见他。.
(2)“I’m just as tired as you are!” I shouted back. “我和你一样累!”我大声回应道。
shout v. 呼喊;呼叫
eg:It's not polite to shout to people. 对人大声说话是很不礼貌的。
shout at sb. 对着某人嚷
eg:She shouted at me but I paid no attention. 她冲着我嚷,但我一点儿也不予理睬。
(3)I am just as tired as you are !我你一样累。
as… as… “像…一样,如同”用于同级比较,第一个as为副词,后接形容词或副词原级;第二个as连词,引导比较状语从句。as…as…的否定形式not as/so…as…,意思“不如…”
eg:You're as tall as your father.你和你父亲一样高。
(4.)For one week, she did not do any homework and neither did I.
有一个星期,她没做任何家务,我也没做。
Neither用作副词时,“也不”常用于“neither+be(have/can/do)+主语”这一倒装结构,意思“…也不…”
eg:—I don't have any money. —Neither do I.“我没有钱。”“我也没有。”
You can’t speak Japanese and neither can I .
拓展:①.neither… nor…连词 “ 既不…也不…’若连接两个两个成分做主语时,谓语的单复数遵循“就近原则”。
eg:Neither they nor Jack was at home.他们和杰克都不在家。
Neither he nor his wife eats meat.他和他妻子都不吃肉。
②.neither 代词两个都不;(两者中)无一个
eg:'Would you like tea or coffee ' 'Neither, thanks.'你想要茶还是咖啡?都不要,谢谢。
③.Neither 作形容词,与单数名词连用 意思“(两者)都不的“
eg:Neither answer is correct. ( javascript:;" \o "机器发音 )两个答案都不对。
(5)“What happened ” she asked in surprise. “发生什么事了?”她吃惊地问。
In surprise 为固定短语 意思“惊讶地,惊奇地“。
To one’s surprise “令人吃惊的是,令人惊讶的是”.
surprised adj.感到惊讶的
eg:We were very surprised at the result.
(6)Could you please pass me the salt 你把盐递给我好吗?
pass sb sth=pass sth to sb.把某物递给某人
eg:Would you please pass the salt to me
(9)Could I borrow that book 我能借那本书吗?
Borrow sb sth =borrow sth. from sb.
eg:I borrowed a book from the library.
(10)Could you lend me some money?
Lend(lent lent)意思“借给,借出”常见短语:lend sb sth=lend sth to sb 意思“借给某人某物”或“把某物借给某人”
eg:Can you lend me your car this evening
你今晚能把汽车借给我用一下吗?
词语辨析borrow lend
这两个词常被混淆,借入用 borrow,借出用 lend:
eg:Can I borrow your pen
Here, I’ll lend you my pen.
