will是情态动词中比较常用的一个,有3种常用的用法:预测、意愿、意图(承诺、威胁与执意)
预测(prediction)1 在一般将来时中,常用will do来表示对某事的预测。
It will rain tomorrow. 明天可能会下雨。
同样表示预测的情态动词短语有be going to。will 和 be going to 两者有什么区别呢?

表示预测时,be going to有更多的证据支撑,而且事件发生的时间更近。另外,be going to 往往表示无法控制的行为。

2 在条件状语从句或者时间状语从句中,我们通常用will表预测而不是be going to。

二.意愿(willingness):意愿即为当下做出的决定,而不是事先计划好的。是根据当时的情况,做出决断要去做某事。

这种当下决定的情况下,通常用will而不是be going to. Be going to 表示说话人对未来行为的计划和打算。
三. 意图(intention):意愿是当下做出的决定,而意图往往涉及将来准备好的事情。
1 承诺和威胁,在表达意图时,如果是希望发生的事,则可解释为一种承诺。如果是不希望发生的事,则可解释为威胁。

Qian Xuesen was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province on December 11, 1911. He left Hangzhou at the age of three when his father obtained a post in Beijing. He graduated from the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University and attended Shanghai Jiaotong University. There, he received a degree in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on railroad administration.
After his graduation from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1934, he travelled across the Pacific Ocean to the United States for further study. There he received his Ph. D. degrees in both aerospace and mathematics. After he graduated, he became a professor as well as a researcher who studied rockets and missile theories.
In 1949, when the news of the birth of the People’s Republic of China came to the United States, Qian Xuesen and his wife decided to return to China. In 1950, when they were ready to return home, they were stopped by US officials and sent to prison. With the help of Chinese government and his friends, he finally returned home.
When he returned to China in 1955, our country’s space research was almost a blank. In 1956, he set up the first research institute of rockets and missiles. From then on, he was in charge of developing China’s missile, rocket and spacecraft research programs. He was a pioneer in these related fields and was honored as “The father of China’s Missiles”. He is the pride of the Chinese people. He made important contributions to the missile and space programs in China.
He passed away on October 31, 2009 at the age of 98, but he is a man who still encourages Chinese youth. His devotion to our country was expressed in his saying, “My career is in China, my success is in China and my destination is in China!” When someone said he could make much more money if he stayed in the United States, he laughed and said, “My family name is Qian, but I don’t like qian.” A Chinese film production, Qian Xuesen, directed by Zhang Jianya and starring Chen Kun as Qian Xuesen, was released on December 11, 2011 in both Asia and North America, and on March 2, 2012 in China.

The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which is on the 15th of the first lunar month. Here are some things you should know about the Lantern Festival.
The origins of Chinese lanterns
The origins of Chinese lanterns reach back to the Stone Age. The coming of the Bronze Age saw the development of different kinds of worked metal lanterns, of which palace lanterns were the most ornate. Later, decorative lanterns came to be used in festivals. All kinds of lantern festivals became quite popular during the Sui Dynasty. During the Southern Song Dynasty, a festival in Qinhuaihe in Nanjing featured over 10,000 lanterns. During the Qing Dynasty, magnificent exhibitions of lanterns were held in the capital city. Lantern contest were also held, with the dragon lantern being the most famous competitor.
A sea of lanterns
The biggest attraction of the Lantern Festival is the sea of lanterns in every size and shape. Chinese started to celebrate the Lantern Festival during the Han Dynasty, and then it became popular during the Tang and Song dynasties. This is a festival for people to have fun.
At night, people go into the streets with a variety of lanterns under the full moon, try to solve Chinese riddles and play games, enjoy traditional food called Yuan Xiao and set off fireworks. There is really a lot of fun for the young and the old. They also watched the lion or dragon dance. Chinese dragons are a symbol of China, and they are believed to bring good luck to people, therefore the longer the dragon is in the dance, the more luck it will bring to the community.
7-day holiday in the Song Dynasty
While modem people complain that they have to work on this day, they would be surprised to know that people living in the Song Dynasty could take seven days off.
