三、阅读单选
Qomolangma is the world's highest mountain. You may have learned from your textbooks that its height is 8,844.43 meters. But not all sides are in agreement on this. Different researchers have given different results. In addition, the height of the mountain can change over time.
That's why a Chinese survey team with over 30 members set out to reach the peak of Qomolangma to re measure its height on May 6, 2020. They were equipped (配备) with the latest technology.
It is not an easy task. The average air temperature on the mountain is -29℃, and powerful winds blow all the time. In such bad conditions, surveying drones (无人机) cannot work at the peak of the mountain. That's why it's still necessary to send human experts to the peak to get exact results.
But does a difference of a few meters really matter when it comes to a high mountain
In fact, measuring the height of Qomolangma is about more than just getting one exact number. Mount Qomolangma is at the point where the Eurasian plate (欧亚板块) meets the Indian plate. It formed 38 million years ago as the two plates hit each other. Changes in the peak's height can show whether the two plates are heading toward or away from each other. This can help us understand the movement of the earth's crust (地壳).
The survey team will also get first hand information about environmental conditions at the top of the mountain. This will help us understand how climate change has affected the Qinghai Tibet Plateau (高原).
26.What do we know from the first paragraph
A.Researchers measure the height of Qomolangma every year. B.There is no agreed-upon height of Qomolangma at present.
C.It's not easy to measure the height of Qomolangma. D.The height of Qomolangma increases every year.
27.How many members were there in the Chinese survey team in 2020
A.Over sixty. B.Over eighty. C.Over forty. D.Over thirty.
28.Which of the following words could replace the underlined word "peak" in Paragraph 2
A.Point. B.Top. C.Base. D.Edge.
29.What challenge did the Chinese survey team face
A.A lack of water. B.Dangerous animals.
C.Bad weather conditions. D.The movement of the earth's crust.
30.What is the main idea of the last two paragraphs
A.Why measuring the height of Qomolangma is important. B.What changes in the height of Qomolangma's peak can tell us.
C.How Qomolangma became the highest mountain. D.How plate movements affected the height of Qomolangma.
四、阅读判断
Not many years ago, some farmers were worried because hawks were taking many of their chickens. The farmers didn’t know what to do.Finally they went to the country officials and asked for help.
“Kill the hawks,”the officials said.“We will even pay for them.”So the farmers began to think of ways to kill the hawks.
The farmers killed many hawks. They no longer had to worry about their chickens. But they now had a new worry.Field mice were eating up a lot of the farmers’grain.
How did this happen?
Hawks eat not only chickens but also field mice. They eat more field mice than chickens. But the farmers didn’t know this. When they killed a lot of hawks, they changed the balance.
When people move into a new place, they often destroy many wild plants.Often these plants are food for the animals. If the animals can’t find enough plants to eat, they will starve or have to leave the place.
In one part of the USA,for example, the deer there like to eat a certain kind of wild roses. The mountain lions there eat the deer. The number of deer, mountain lions and wild roses doesn’t change much if people leave things as they are.
But people killed many mountain lions in order to protect the deer.Soon there were so many deer that they ate up all the wild roses. Then the deer began to eat the green leaves of young trees. These trees were important to the farmers. So the farmers thought of ways to protect their trees. Now the deer had nothing to eat,and many of them died. This was another lesson from nature.
To keep the balance of nature is important for us to rememher.
根据短文内容,判断正(T)误(F)。
31.Finally the officials told the farmers to kill the hawks.
32.Field mice eat not only chickens but also the farmers’grain.
33.When the animals can’t find enough plants to eat in a place, they will starve or have to leave.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Welcome to China! We will see lovely pandas soon. Now let me tell you something about pandas. Pandas are black and white. They are very cute and friendly. They are fed on bamboo and mainly live in some forests in Sichuan Province and Gansu Province.
Now pandas are becoming fewer and fewer in number. So the Chinese government is thinking about ways to protect them. Some education programs send people to schools to tell children about the importance of saving pandas. The government is also planting more bamboo trees, so there will be more forests for pandas to live in.
