Robert loves to make the bed so he picked up his favorite card. Jim again picked up “wash vegetables” and Robert chose “feed the fish”. Soon the two boys were happy to take away all the cards.

Here are a few ways to motivate(激发) children to do chores. 16 Children always watch their parents and learn how to act from them, so the parents must set a good example and take chores seriously. This motivates children to do chores, too.
Decide what kinds of chores children do. For younger children, give them easy work, like putting away their toys. 17
Tell children about the importance of doing chores. 18 Knowing the importance of the chores helps to motivate children to do them.
19 When children finish the chores on the list, parents can reward(奖励) them by giving them a prize. A chore list also gives children a sense of pride (自豪感) when they finish all their chores.

We Should Do Chores at Home
Now many students don't like doing chores at home. There are mainly two reasons. One is that they think it’s their parents’ job to do chores at home. The other is that they think doing chores takes up their time for study. But I think we should help do chores at home because our parents are busy with their work and are often tired after work. I often do chores at home, like making the bed, watering flowers, cleaning the rooms, taking out the rubbish and doing the dishes. I think doing chores is relaxing. I also feel great to help my parents.
