教材分析: 本课时为外研版（三年级起点）四年级下册第五模块第一单元，教学内容是谈论过去的事情或情况，通过对比过去与现在的情况来帮助学生感知一般过去时的用法。
学情分析：本节课的授课对象是四年级的学生，他们生性活泼善于思考，对英语有着浓厚的学习兴趣。通过之前一年半的英语学习，他们已积累了一定的单词量。
课型：新授课
教学内容：
Unit 1 I was two then.
1. Listen, point and say.
2. Listen, point and find “was, were”.
教学目标：
1. 能够正确使用单词：was, short, tall, grandparent, young, then, cute, naughty。
2. 能够使用“was,were”描述过去的事情。
3. 能够通过学习理解人或事物过去和现在的变化，感受中英文表达的不同。
4. 能够在学习新的语言结构时，遇到问题主动请教他人。
教学重难点：
重点：能够正确使用单词：was, short, tall, grandparent, young, then, long, cute, naught。
难点：能够使用“was,were”描述过去的事情。
教学方法：讲授法，交际法，情景教学法。
教具准备：PPT教学课件，单词卡片等。

Step 2.Lead-in
教师出示Tom小时候的照片，让学生猜一猜：“Who is this ”引导学生大胆猜测，最后公布答案。让学生描述来描述一下照片中Sam的外貌特点，暂不纠正学生的时态错误。学生描述后，教师改正学生刚才句子中的时态错误。告诉学生描述过去的情况要用动词过去式，am的过去式为was,教师播放Sam的自述视频课件，注意提醒学生“I was ...”的正确表达。
Step 3.Presentation
1. Listen, point and say.
(1) 通过上一环节的教学，教师播放录音要求学生认真听。引导学生说一说Sam过去的情况。
(2) 再次播放录音，请学生跟读录音，在课件中呈现这四个句子，用不同颜色的笔标注“am, is, was”。让学生跟读录音。
指导学生模仿录音中的语音、语调，注意句子的重读。播放录音让学生小组跟读，全班齐读。
2. Listen, point and find “was, were”.
(1) 将课文中的新词grandparent, then, hair, were, young, old, short, long进行讲解并教读。对“was, then, were, young, old, hair, short”进行运用练习。
(2) 播放录音，要求学生认真听音并结合图片尝试理解会话内容。
(3) 教师请学生来翻译对话内容，点拨学生注重谈论过去的事情和现在的事情时所用的不同时态。
(4) 教师领读课文会话，学生跟读。
(5) 邀请学生两人一组表演会话。给与学生自由朗读时间，当发现学生出现学习困难时给与他们指导和引导。
(6) 全班分为两大组表演会话
Step 4: Consolidation
1. 要求学生运用句型“I was... then” “Now I am ...” “You were ...”来描述自己的照片。
2. 带领学生根据自身情况用一般过去时造句。
Step 5: Summary
1. 单词：was, short, tall, grandparent, young, then, long, cute, naught。
2. 句子：“I was...then.” “Now I am ....” “You were ....”
Step 6: Homework
1. Listen to the tape and recite the text.
2. Copy the new words.
3. Try to make a new dialogue.
