The Marx Brothers made many funny movies in the 1930s and 1940s. They made fourteen movies together. The movies made fun of officials in many areas of society, like colleges, hospitals or the government.
There were five Marx Brothers. The most famous were Julius, Leonard and Adolph. They were born in New York City between 1886 and 1890. Their father made clothing. They were making fun of themselves and other immigrants who did not speak English well. Chico also made funny jokes about words and expressions that sound alike but have different meanings.
Harpo Marx had curly yellow hair, but it was not really his hair. It was false hair, called a wig. He never said a word in any of the movies. Instead, he acted out what he wanted to say. The light brown Argentine(阿根廷)ants are originally from South America, spreading around the world and living in huge super colonies, according to the latest scientific findings. Over the years, the Argentine ant has moved to other parts of the globe, possibly by hiding in people's luggage and in cargo. This hasn't always been a good thing since the insects can destroy local plants and affect what animals in that area eat.
Ants are fierce fighters. They protect their territory from invaders, including other types of ants and insects. But Argentine ants, though they live on separate continents, were rather friendly and not hostile towards each other when they come together, scientists say.
There are three known super colonies of Argentine ants. In Europe, one super colony is located along the Mediterranean Sea. It is believed to be 3,700 miles long. Another super colony is located in California. It covers about 560 miles. The third super colony is on the west coast of Japan.
Scientists have discovered that the insects in the three super colonies share similar chemical composition. This helps them recognize one another. To prove this, the scientists matched each super colony with ants from a different colony in a similar part of the world. The Mediterranean ant colony couldn't get along with a smaller one from Spain. And the ants from the west coast of Japan couldn't get along with those from another area in Japan. But when the ants from the three super colonies came together, they acted like old friends, greeting each other by rubbing antennas to say hello.
The scientists think that the Argentine ant super colonies are one big family. Because they have similar chemical profiles, the scientists believe they are genetically related. The ants recognize each other by the chemical composition of their outer shells.
35.How does the Argetine ant spread other places
A.They creep slowly all over the world by themselves.
B.They were brought to other part through people and goods moving.
C.They were sent different part by scientists.

Instead of going to camp this summer, Zach, 11, decided to walk 668 miles from Atlanta, Georgia, to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. Zach hopes to raise awareness about the difficulties of homeless kids. His journey to help others began two years ago. Zach walked from his home in Tampa, Florida, to Tallahassee. Then, in 2008, he did it again, this time walking from Tallahassee to Atlanta.
Since May, Zach has traveled 12 miles every day in his trusty Adidas shoes. Along the way, he has collected more than 1,000 letters about homeless children. He hopes to expose the letters to the public. Zach says he wants his walk to make a difference. “It was a long walk,” Zach says, “but it was definitely worth it.”
In 2005, Zach participated in an episode of the television show “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” He says that helping to build homes made him realize there were people who didn't have anywhere to live. That's when he decided that he wanted to help homeless youth. He was also inspired by a movie he saw about Mildred Norman, an activist who promoted world peace by walking 25,000 miles. Zach thought that walking would be a good way to draw attention to his cause.
Zach is also the founder of the Little Red Wagon Foundation. The purpose of the non profit is to help needy youth. Through his group, Zach has raised money and donated school supplies. “A lot of homeless youth don't get the opportunity to succeed in school because they don't have supplies,” he says.
Zach's volunteerism has even inspired a Hollywood movie based on his life. “He's the most extraordinary ordinary kid I've ever met,” says Michael Guillen of the Philanthropy Project, who is making the movie. “He hasn't just talked the talk. He has literally and figuratively walked the walk.”

The Western has been the favorite type for American adventure story since the nineteenth century. While the American West was being settled, newspapers and “dime novels” could depend on stories of the frontier settlements and tell tales about living in the untamed wilderness to sell. The public back East was eager to read about the West, even if the stories were more fiction than fact.
In 1902, Owen Wister published his novel The Virginian, which was one of the first novels to treat the Western as a serious literary form; the novel still sold well and had inspired several movies and a television series. In 1905, Bertha H. Bower and Zane Grey published their first novels, and the popular Western novels had continued to flourish from that day on, with current novels by Luke Short, Max Brand, and Louis L' Amour carrying on the tradition
The first Western movie appeared even earlier than these serious Western novels. Before the turn of the century, an associate of Edison's had filmed Cripple Creek Barroom Scene, a few seconds of film showing the inside of a saloon, to help publicize the invention of the movie camera. In 1903 the Edison' company filmed the first “full length” Western—The Great Train Robbery. The film lasts less than fifteen minutes, but a story is told its entirety. In the movie, bandits (强盗) rob a train and its passengers, killing the engineer, and find themselves tracked down by a posse. Audiences loved the movie. Some theaters were actually opened for the single purpose of showing The Great Train Robbery and only later realized that they could do equally well showing other movies. The film was so successful that other companies, and finally even the Edison company itself, began producing copies and other versions of The Great Train Robbery. Ironically, in an era when the West was still very real —Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma were all territories rather than states in 1903—The Great Train Robbery was filmed in New Jersey.
42.The purpose of this passage is to________.
A.discuss the making of the movie The Great Train Robbery
B.discuss the early Western novels
C.discuss the art of movie making

B.Owen Wister was an ex cowboy
C.New Jersey was still “untamed wilderness” in 1903
D.films were fairly uncommon at the time The Great Train Robbery was made
45.The passage suggests that________.
A.Edison's invention of the movie camera happened by accident
B.movie houses didn't make much money in the early days
C.Easterners were fascinated by the “ wild West”
D.The Great Train Robbery was poorly received by the public because it lacked a plot

Rome wasn't built in a day, and the Internet didn't come out of a golden egg. Many of today's creations were born of people who had creative ideas, but who did not stop at simply having an idea. They took one brick of capital (资本), another brick of knowledge, perhaps a brick or two of family and friends, and built their empires brick by brick.
If you want to build an online empire, you cannot settle for simply having a website full of articles, or a website full of pictures—there are already thousands of sites like that,so you need to come up with something new and creative.
So if you are starting to build something up, ask yourself: what do you really want to do, and what are you really good at Believe it or not, you can make money at something that you are an expert in, and you need to know what that is.
Remember, having an online empire does not mean that you have to do it alone. You can take your friends along with you. Having a friend advertise your services online is a good way to attract more visitors to your empire.
Building an online empire, you will have to be prepared to not only come up with creative ideas, but to carry your ideas through. Talk to people who have already succeeded in building their own empires. Talk to people who are struggling. Join a mailing list that will help you get through your struggle to achieve your goal.
As you move forward, you will find that you can help other people, and you will have a good many stories to tell—not to mention a lot of money in the bank.
If you learn the real secrets of creating a long term stable online business then you will have enough money to retire on.

There's no doubt that...; There's some doubt whether...。
从“How terrible!”
hold down“控制,抵制”;hold up“举起(提出,抓举,支持住,阻挡)”;hold out“伸出;坚持”;hold to“固执(坚持)”。
it is / was the first time +that clause
A、C、D三项作名词用时皆可接to,但“voyage”意为“航海,航行”,“way”意为“方式,方法;道路”,“visit”意为“参观,访问,到(某地)”,比较A、C、D的意思,显然D项符合题意。
首先排除A、C两项,“introduce sth. to sb.”
此处与上文“by carrying hunters over parts of the country”相对应,故选A项。
A项的用法是tell sb./sth. 或tell sb.+ clause;B项的用法是announce to sb. that clause;C项为persuade sb.(not) to do sth.;D项为prevent sb./sth. (from) doing sth.。
carry out意为“执行,完成,实施”;take out意为“取出,拿出”;point out意为“指点,指明,指出”;work out意为“得出,计算出”。
另外onto one's back常连用,故应排除A项,B项为正确答案。
No,thanks. I can manage it myself,意思是“不用谢,我自己能够应付”,故选C项。

With summer vacation drawing near, some parents are anxious to hunt for summer crammer schools for their children. To get more money, many summer crammer schools have come into being under the name of famous teachers. In this situation, quite a few parents enter their children for the schools. However, as a result, not only do their children fail to improve their study but also the parents are cheated of a lot of money. Meanwhile, their children waste the valuable summer vacation.
So I think parents should have the right and reasonable options for their children as to the training class. In some way leaving the children to nature is a better idea.
