词 一、数词的分类：基数词和序数词
序数词前面通常要加the.
World War One---the First World War
Lesson Two---the Second Lesson
Chapter Three---the Third Chapter
在序数词前面用a/an, 表示“又一，再一”
1) I have failed four times,but I will have a fifth try.
2) I want to have a third look at your coat. 二、与数词相关的其它表达法：
1.小数点读作：point
2.倍数：
一倍（once）/两倍（twice）/三倍（three times）/四倍（four times）…
3.百分数读作：percent
4. 分数
分子用基数词，分母用序数词。当分子大于一的时侯分母要加s用复数. 如3/5读作three fifths
1/3读作one third
?读作one half
?读作one fourth/one quarter
在口语中更多读成a third/a half/a fourth/a quarter
注：1/2不能读作one second,3/4还可以读作three quarters,2 2/3读作two and two thirds5.数词算式表达

×→(multiplied by)/times ÷→divided by
5+7→five plus seven
9-3→nine minus three
8×9→eight (multiplied by)/times nine
64÷8→sixty-four divided by eight
6:5→six to five
4的平方→four squared
5的立方→five cubed
6的四次方/幂→the fourth power of six
平方米→square meter
立方米→cubic meter
6.度数的读法
1) 19℃读作nineteen degrees centigrade
2) -12℃读作minus twelve degrees centigrade 或者读作twelve degrees centigrade below freezing
3) 0℃读作zero centigrade
4) 0摄氏度以上读作over zero centigrade
7.其它
1）倒数第10行
the 10th line from the bottom/end
2)倒数第三(行)
the last but two( lines)
3)倒数第四(自然段)
the last but three( paragraphs) 4)The room is 4 meters by nine meters (36 square meters)
5)The cage is as big as 4 meters by three meters and by three meters (36 cubic meters)
8.年月日等表达法（千万不要全写成阿拉伯数字）

9.时刻表达法
1）低于30分钟用past,超过30分钟就用to, 或者直接读数,一半就用half past,一刻用a quarter

8:35→twenty-five to nine/eight thirty-five
9:30→half past nine/nine thirty
10:15→a quarter past ten/ten fifteen
9:45→a quarter to ten/nine fourty-five
2)电台，机场，车站等计时只直接读数
10.电话号码直接读数11.不精确的数字表示法
1)She is over/above/more than 50.
2)She is under/below/less than 50.
3)He is about/around/some/
more or less/something like 50.
He is 50 or so.

13.不定数目表示法
1)head(作“牲畜头数”时用单数） two head of cattle
但是：two heads of cabbage (两棵卷心菜）
2）dozen
a/two/three dozen books
a/two/three dozen of the/my/these books

a few/several dozen (of) books
a few/several dozens of books
a.当它前面有具体数词时,既不加s后面也不用of,但如果后面的名词前有其他的修饰语时又要带上of
b.不与具体数词连用时用dozens of ( 许多，几十）
c.当与a few ,several等数目不很具体的词连用时，词尾不加s时 后面的of可以省略，加了s后面的of就不能省。
d.in dozens按打
eg.Please pack them in dozens.(按打装袋吧。）
