Since the very beginning of space exploration(探索), humans have been sending animals into space. The US sent fruit flies in 1947 first. In 2007, a cockroach(蟑螂) named Hope became the first animal to have babies in space. Recently, NASA has sent a group of unusual animals into space, including 5,000 tardigrades(水熊), also called water bears, as well as 128 squids(鱿鱼).
These animals were sent to the International Space Station(ISS) to take part in new experiments by NASA. As space can be a hard place to live, astronauts who go there experience a lot of different problems. These experiments will help us learn more about how to survive in space.
But why were these animals chosen There are a few reasons. Tardigrades are very tiny animals that can survive in extreme environments, such as in Antarctica, at the bottom of the oceans, and on top of tall mountains, according to the BBC. By studying these animals on the ISS, scientists will be ready to see how they survive in space.
The squids are also being studied because they have immune(免疫的) systems that are like those of humans, according to USA Today. Studying animals in space will give us new ideas about how spaceflight will have an influence on our own bodies.

As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as success.
Scientists have found out that the radiation (辐射) is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of the radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health.
The harm of the radiation won't be found until their children even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really effective medicine has been found so far.
Space rubbish is also thought to be a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there were 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites, 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space rubbish. An explosion (爆炸) in space in 1999 made a cloud of 300,000 fragment (碎片), each at least 4 mm in size. A small piece of these even knocked a spaceship window and caused some damage (损坏).
Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working to deal with space rubbish. Although space is really dangerous, it interests many people on the earth.
We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years. So we should do something to help improve the space environment.
21. The radiation from the sun and other stars is_________.
A. good B. helpful C. small D. harmful
22. Rubbish and radiation in space are dangerous to___________.

C. The harm of the radiation may be found in the spacemen's children.

I believe aliens really exist. They live on other planets. They usually have a big head, a pair of big eyes and a short figure. They look weak, but actually they are very strong. Their life is quite different from ours. We humans must drink water and need air to live but they don't. They can live without eating for a long time. They don't even need to sleep so they have more time to study and play. We take bikes, cars, trains or planes to other places. Aliens take a UFO to where they want to go.
