动词不定式是一种非谓语动词形式,可以充当除谓语外的任何句子成分。其结构为“to+动词原形”,其中to不是介词,而是动词不定式的符号,其基本形式:肯定式:to +do 如:I asked him to open the door.
否定式 not to +do 如Iasked him not to open the door.
动词不定式在句子中可以用作主语、宾语、、定语、状语、补足语、表语等。本单元主要学习其作宾语,状语,宾补的用法。

常用带to的动词不定式作宾语补常见的decide,promise,
learn,need,choose,plan,want, would like , fail,hope, try等。【决定并许诺学会,就需要选择计划,(不)想失败就希望尽力】
二、不定式作宾语补足语
动词不定式位于及物动词的宾语后,补充说明宾语,作宾语补足语。其结构为:Vt. + sb. + to do sth.其否定形式:Vt. + sb. + not to do sth.
例:1.My mother often tells us to stay at home and not to go out by 9:30.
2.Who taught you to play the piano last year
常用带to的动词不定式作宾语补足语的动词有:want, would like ,ask, tell, order, wish, allow, invite, teach, encourage, expect 等,另外感官动词和使让动词等常用不带to的动词不定式作宾语补足语。
※使役动词let, have, make的宾补用不带to的不式作宾补。其结构为:Vt. + sb. + (not) do sth.
※感官动词一注意notice ,二听hear,listen to三看see, watch,look at等要以不带to的不定式或者现在分词作宾补。其结构为:Vt. + sb. + (not) do sth.
