Lesson 24 A Gift for Little Zeke
Part 1. Analysis of the teaching material
This lesson is a story lesson of unit 4, volume 2, grade 5, primary school English , jijiao edition . The theme of this unit is " Did you have a nice trip " . Students are taught to talk about their travels in the past tense. This lesson is an extension of this unit. The story is about Mrs. Jones had gifts for students, but not to Little Zeke. Finally, Little Zeke wrote a letter to Mrs. Jones and got a gift. through this lesson, children can retell the story to others.
Part 2. Analysis of the students
Students are grade 5, they have learned English for more than two years, they have a basic knowledge of English. And this lesson is the story lesson that children like. so the students can retell the story.
Part 3. Teaching goals
First. knowledge goals:
Students can understand and read the story with the help of pictures and text.
Students can retell the story with the help of blackboard and mind map.
Second. ability goals:
Students can read the story by using reading strategies such as seeking, silent reading and guessing.
Third. emotion goals:
To improve students’ interest in learning English and make them enjoy reading and acting.
To enhance students' awareness of caring and sharing with each other.
Part4 Teaching is important and difficult
Key points: able to understand and read the story with the help of the pictures and the teacher.
Difficulty: able to retell the story with the help of the blackboard, pictures and the teacher.
Part 5. Teaching methods
In this lesson I will use game teaching method, situational teaching method, group cooperation method and emotion penetration method, etc.
Part 6. Teaching procedures
There are six steps in this part .
Step 1: Greeting and Review
