Unit 5 Buying and Selling
Lesson 27: Business English
教材分析:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第五单元的第三课时,主要涉及商务英语。在授课之前先让学生回忆学生自己已经知道的商务英语,同时也可以通过网络了解一下还有哪些商务英语。课上可以通过让学生小组合作的形式进行相互交流;然后教师通过幻灯片、图片向学生展示更多的商务英语,并让学生学会运用商务英语。
教法分析:
本节课通过课前预习,要求学生课前识记该课的相关词汇及短语,感知新语言项目,做到温故知新。课堂上创设情境学习、借助多媒体提供画面或视频来提高学生的积极性。在教学活动过程中,通过师生问答、生生对话、等多种语言交际活动,培养口语交际能力和在日常生活中运用英语的能力;注重激发学生对话题的兴趣,让学生体验到用英语进行交流的乐趣。
学生情况分析:
由于本课内容是学生比较好奇的话题,所以学生的学习兴趣比较高,但对英语的感知、基本知识、基本学习技能都相对比较欠缺,所以在教学过程中要充分利用多媒体的功能,采用多种教学方式,吸引学生的注意力,激发他们的学习热情,尽力使课堂达到最佳效果。

Teaching procedure:
Step1:Lead-in
Greeting to each other.
T: English is an ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )amazing language and a world widely used language. With good English, we can do some business. In business, some terms are not easily understood. In this class, let’s introduce some business English.
Aim: To write the topic.
Step2: Presentation
Show some pictures about business English. Let the students answer the following questions:
T: Hello, boys and girls. Do you know some business English
Ss: Yes. /No.
T: Is business English different from everyday English
Ss: Yes. /No.
T: How many business English terms do you know
S1: One or two terms.
T: What is it
Discuss the questions in groups. Ask the students to talk for three minutes. Then let them present their talk in class.
Teach new words.
[设计意图] 利用学生学过的内容,从询问商务英语开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,图片的使用使学习更加形象直观,自然地进入谈论商务英语的新话题。
Step3.Listening
T: Listen to the tape with your book closed and know about the main idea of the lesson. At the same time, fill in the blanks.
1.In business, people sometimes speak English in     ways.
2.Buy something at a low price and sell it in a     price.
3.“He is a fat cat” means “He is a     person”.

[设计意图] 加深同学们对整体的掌握,学生带着问题有目的地倾听,容易把握内容回答问题。
Step4.Presentation
The students read the text, if some students feel the passage is too long, the teacher can divide it into four parts. Then ask them to read them in groups. After a while, ask them to find the meanings of these business terms.
1. Buy low, sell high.
(Buy something at a low price, and then sell it at a high price.)
低买高卖。
2. We’re in the red this month.
(The business is losing money.) 我们这个月出现了财政赤字。
3. I am moving up the ladder.
(I got a better job or a better position.)
我找到了一份更好的工作。
4. I have to beef up my I report.
(I have to make my report stronger.)
我让我的报告更有说服力。
5. He’s a fat cat. (He’s a rich person.)
他是个有钱人。
6. The cook the books.
(They steal money by making changes to the company’s accounts.)
他通过做假账窃取公司的钱财。
Please pay attention to the long word: business.
[设计意图] 小组合作朗读课文。展示有关商务英语的图片,激发朗读的欲望。在互帮互助的小组合作中训练课文重点单词、短语、句式表达。
Step5.Reading
1. Read the text and answer the following questions.
(1)What is the meaning of “We are in the red this month.”
(2)If a person gets a better job, what can we say to him
(3)What does “I have to beef up my report.” Mean

3. Read the text again and fill in the blanks.

[设计意图] 学生通过阅读课文,了解重点内容,并且通过做题来巩固对课文的理解和掌握;朗读课文并填空,了解课文重点句式。
Step6: Complete Let’s Do It!
Ask the students to read the passage again and again so that they can finish No.1.Listen to the tape and finish No.2.Then fill in the blanks in No.3.
[设计意图] Let’s Do It! 部分中的 No.1重点是阅读教学,主要针对课文的内容,通过练习题又一次巩固了课文内容。No.3考查本课学到的重点介词的用法。

教学反思:通过学习这节课,学生的学习兴趣被调动起来,很多学生主动的举手回答问题。在教学过程中,我采用了情景交际法,用多媒体展示图片让学生组对话,能充分发挥学生的自主能力及小组合作协调性,课堂气氛比较活跃,达到了理想的效果。
当然,在讲课的过程中也出现了一些问题,比如:一些问题重复过多,没有及时纠正学生的错误,应变不够灵活等,这对我来说是一个经验的积累,在今后的教学中我会吸取教训,不断的丰富自己,完善自己,尽力做到最好。
