When I was a child in Minnesota, watermelon was too expensive for my family. One of my father's friends, Bemie, was a rich businessman. He had a large store in Saint Paul.
Every summer, when the first watermelons arrived, Bernie would give us a call. My father and I would go to Bernie's place. We would sit at the dock(码头) happily and get ready for a big meal.
Bemie would take a big watermelon out, cut it up, give us both a big piece and sit down next to us. Then we three would put our faces into the watermelon, eating it happily.
In my father's eyes, Bemie was a real rich man. I always thought it was because he was such a successful businessman. Later I learned that my father thought that Bemie was rich because of the way he lived his life. Bemie knew when to stop working, get together with friends and enjoy his "watermelon".
Some of us, no matter(不管) how much money we have, will never be free enough to eat our "watermelon". If you don't take the time to sit at the ''dock'' and enjoy life's small pleasures, your work is probably injuring your life.
When I grew up, because I was too busy making money as a doctor, I forgot the lesson I once learned at the dock. Well, now I've relearned(重新学习) it. Though I'm still busy working as a doctor, I will try to slow down and take the time to enjoy the small pleasures of my life.

五、信息摘录
In Hangzhou, parents need to take online lessons to learn how to make friends with children. Then they can get different grades and different certificates (证书). What do you think of it
Ai Tianle, 14,Shanghai
I think it is necessary for parents to take this course. For example, the course about communication is very important. As children grow up, they like to talk with friends instead of their family. After learning some good skills, parents can better communicate with their children and express love to them.
Wen Xinrui, 15,Shanghai
Nowadays, many young parents let grandparents take care of their children. Because of this, they lack (缺乏) the experience of raising children. It is something that can take a long time to learn. But this course could help solve the problem. Parents can improve their skills quickly.
Xie Tong, 13,Zhejiang
When parenting becomes a task, it is of little use. On the one hand, if parents want to leam these skills, they will take in necessary knowledge in different ways. On the other hand, if they just come here for the certificates, they may lose interest. Besides, this kind of parenting education is not suitable for everyone. Some parents may prefer to learn through practice.
Zhang Yuwen, 13,Liaoning
I don’t think a parenting certificate is necessary. Our parents need to help us in our life and give us some life experience because every child is different. And the best way to learn is through practice. But by going to a class, parents may think all children are pretty much the same and they won’t consider their children’s uniqueness (独特性).
Should parents take online lessons to learn how to make friends with children
Ai Tianle Yes. It helps parents learn how to
1 with their children and express love to them.
Wen Xinrui Yes. Young parents lack of parenting experience can improve their skills 2 after training.
Xie Tong No. First, if parents want to learn, there are many 3 . Second,it may make them not 4 in it. Third, it is not suitable for everyone.
Zhang Yuwen No. It cannot help parents teach children life experience. Also it
cannot let parents find their children’s 5 .
