What would the world be like if cars could drive themselves Well, this could be the future of driving. There are several companies, including Google, working on driver-less cars, which are now in the testing stages. If the tests are successful, these electric, self-driven cars could be available very soon.
Cars already have many features(特性) allowing them to take over for drivers during certain situations. Some features include cars being able to park themselves, or slow down when they detect objects close by. They can also control the speed if there are dangerous conditions. Scientists, and engineers believe, with the help of wireless signals, cameras and GPS, we are now at a stage where creating a safe self-driving car might be possible.
The self-driven car may be the answer to lowering the number of deathly accidents caused by careless drivers or dangerous conditions. However, there are still some people who do not like the idea. American lawyer Whit Drake, for example doesn’t believe these cars are safe. He thinks the possibility of the technology making a mistake will be too high.

Once there, though, the boys began to fight and the water jug (壶) fell into the well. The boys looked into the well and thought of their father. They were afraid to go home.
Hours passed. “Where are those boys ” shouted the angry father. “They are probably playing a game and have forgotten about the water. I wish they all turned into birds!” And when he looked up, he saw seven black birds flying away. The father was shocked. “What have I done ” he thought. But it was too late. He could not take back his words.
Later, the girl grew up and discovered she had brothers. She decided to find them. Finally, she found their home. To enter, she needed a special key made from a chicken bone (骨头), which she didn’t have. The girl thought for a while, and then took a knife and cut off one of her fingers. With it, she opened the front door and went inside. On a table, there were seven plates and seven cups. She ate and drank a little from each of them. In the last cup, she dropped a ring that her parents had given her.
Later that day, the birds returned for their meal. The girl hid behind the door. When the seventh bird drank from the cup, something hit his mouth. The bird realized it at once—it was their parents’ ring. “I wish our sister were here,” he said. “Then we could be free.” At that moment, their sister ran to them and suddenly the birds were humans again.

Seeing so great a change in her neighbors, she thought that her face and her room were very dirty; so she, too, quickly set about cleaning them.
This story shows how two houses and their families were made tidy and comfortable, simply by the example of the clean face of one ragged school boy. As he walked away, I saw his shoes, which were too old to wear. I rolled down my window and called him over. He stopped and turned around to look at me. I asked him if he needed some money. He replied, “No. That’s okay.” The parking area was wet. I could tell that his feet were cold because he kept moving his weight from one foot to the other. “Please,” I held out a five-dollar bill (纸币).”It’s not much, but when the money is shared, it is much more useful,” I said. After hearing my kind words, he took off one of his gloves and reached for the money. His small hand was red and cold. He smiled and went away after saying “Thank you” to me. In July, 2021, China Government introduced the “double reduction(双减)” policy. It hopes to reduce students’ learning pressure by reducing homework and after-school classes. One month has passed since the new semester(学期)began. How do students feel about this new policy
“Our homework is clearly less than before,” said 13-year-old Shen Yuzhe from Beijing. “We are not encouraged to buy workbooks anymore. The exercises are mainly from the textbook.”
According to Shen, teachers now teach at a much slower speed. Students have enough time to understand new knowledge. “Our teachers are also giving us more chances to do experiments and learn from real life,” said Shen. “For example, we went to research earthworms(蚯蚓)in a field during a biology(生物)class. This is a much better way to learn things than just hitting the books.”
For 13-year-old Zhang Hangming from Tianjin, the best thing about “double reduction” is the increased time in after-school activities. “We can now spend more time taking part in clubs and activities, such as dancing, volleyball and drama. I have joined a group called ‘leadership development(领导力发展)’ where I can learn all kinds of skills beyond academic(学业的)study,” said Zhang.
Both Shen and Zhang find there are fewer exams now. But they think it’s not necessarily a good thing. “Exams push me to study harder. Each exam shows my progress as well as my weak points,” Zhang said.
Shen also pointed out that when pressure is lightened, self-discipline(自律)becomes the key. “Some students now spend more time having fun when homework is finished early. But if you use all the free time to relax, you might fall behind your peers(同龄人),” he said.

Once a king got two nice falcons (猎鹰) from his son. He had never seen such beautiful falcons before. He loved them so much and he ordered the best falconer to train them to fly. After several months, the king came to see how the training was going on. He found that one falcon had already been able to fly high in the sky, while the other was staying on the branch of a tree quietly, just keeping still.
The king called all his falconers together and ordered them to try every way they could to make the other falcon fly. But none of them succeeded. One day, while the king was taking a walk in the forest, an idea came to his mind. Maybe someone who knew the natural environment well could solve this problem. He sent for a farmer who lived in the forest into his palace to train it at once. The next morning, the king saw the other falcon flying above in the sky freely. “It’s unbelievable! How could you make it happen ” The farmer replied, “It’s very easy. I just cut off the branch where the falcon rested.” It’s always the same to human beings. We all have “two flying wings” in our hearts as well, but we often don’t seem to notice them and stay where we are just for safety and comfort. We won’t realize we can fly so high and freely until the “branch” we are resting on breaks.

根据“Both Shen and Zhang find there are fewer exams now.”
根据“For 13-year-old Zhang Hangming from Tianjin, the best thing about “double reduction” is the increased time in after-school activities.”
根据“Shen also pointed out that when pressure is lightened, self-discipline(自律)becomes the key. Some students now spend more time having fun when homework is finished early. But if you use all the free time to relax, you might fall behind your peers(同龄人),” he said.”

根据“ He loved them so much and he ordered the best falconer to train them to fly.”
根据“After several months,...He found that one falcon had already been able to fly high in the sky, while the other was staying on the branch of a tree quietly, just keeping still.”
根据“The king called all his falconers together and ordered them to try every way they could to make the other falcon fly. But none of them succeeded.”
根据“He sent for a farmer who lived in the forest into his palace to train it at once. The next morning, the king saw the other falcon flying above in the sky freely.”
根据“We all have “two flying wings” in our hearts as well, but we often don’t seem to notice them and stay where we are just for safety and comfort. We won’t realize we can fly so high and freely until the “branch” we are resting on breaks.”
