内容分析
本课是PEP小学英语三年级起点第二册Unit3第二课时。在Let’s learn部分,
再次呈现重点句:Look at that monkey. It’s fat!以及重点词汇:tall,short,fat,thin.这四个词为两对反义词,并要求学生做到能认读。Let’s do部分,是要求学生边听边以动作来呈现指令的内容。以此来调动学生多种感官参与到重点词汇的操练中来,既检验了学生对于重点单词意思的理解,又检验了学生听、说重点词的能力。
课时目标
知识与能力
(1)能够听说 认读单词“fat, thin, tall, short”,并能在实际生活中正确运用。
(2)能够熟练运用上述单词并通过多种活动运用句型“Look at that… It’s (so)…”描述动物或者其他事物的特征。
(3)能够通过学习生词和游戏互动,提高主动合作的意识。
(4)能够听懂形容词的意思,并能根据指令性语言做出正确的反应。
过程与方法
首先,利用歌曲来激发学生的学习兴趣,延续动物这个话题 然后再利用学生
上节课创作的动物图片,设定情境,引导学生巩固旧知,为新知的学习奠定基础
其次,充分利用视频 音频 图片等,为学生呈现身临其境的动物园画面 学生
由听音猜动物,继而引出动物及其特点教授新知,调动学生视觉 听觉等多种感官的参与 再通过问题引导学生观察并讨论图片,借助图片预测教学内容,培养学生的观察能力和逻辑推理能力 将词句编号以及指读跟读,有利于加强学生音 形 义的训练
最后,观察PPT图片,思考对应特点,选择正确的语句描述 完成图片 词形
词义配对,加深学生对重点单词和句型的理解 追加游戏环节,有利于营造轻松愉快的课堂氛围,让学生在活动中进一步巩固所学知识

通过使用形容词来描述动物特征,使学生对动物们的喜爱度大大增加。

Step 1: Warm-up & Revision & Lead-in
1.Greeting to each other.
2.Revision & Lead-in.
Let students take out of the pictures which they drew last lesson. Ask the students to describe them again.
S1: Look at that… It’s (so)…
S2: Look at that… It’s (so)…
T: Before the class, I will divide you into two groups first. One is Group Giraffe and the other is Group Bear. Now let’s make a competition between the two groups.
Step 2: Presentation
1. Guessing game.
T: We have known many animals at the zoo last lesson. Do you want to visit the zoo again
Ss: Sure !
T: OK! Let’s go now !
Show a picture of the zoo or a gate of the zoo on the PPT. (课件出示: 一张动物园的照片)
The teacher choose one student to the front and imitate the sound of one animal,and ask the other students to have a guess what the animal is.
T: When you listen the sound,you should think who they are. And after listening,I will ask you. So,please listen carefully.
(1)Students listen to the sound carefully, then guess.
Meow~ Meow~ Meow~
T: Wow! What’s that sound
Ss: Cat!
Show the picture: A cat is under the tree. (课件出示:树下一只猫)
T: Wow, you’re very clever! Look at the cat. Is it tall
Ss: No. It’s short!The tree is tall.
T: Good job!
Teach the word “short”“tall” by using the word card and write down the word on the blackboard.
Oink~ Oink~ Oink~
T: Then, what’s this
Ss: Pig !
Show the picture of a pig. (课件出示:一张猪的照片)
T: Look! The pig is fat.
Teach the word “fat” by using the word card and write down the word on the blackboard.
Show the picture of a monkey. (课件出示:一张猴子的照片)
Compare the monkey with the pig.
T: Is the monkey fat
Ss: No !
T: Yes, the monkey is thin!
(Write down the word “thin” on the blackboard.)
The teacher ask students to follow and repeat it.
2. Let’s try.
(1) Read the words which we have learned. They are tall, short, fat, thin.
The teacher can ask the students to read them in different ways. Such as by themselves,in groups,boys vs girls,one by one and so on.
Play a game——Sharp eyes
Show the words on the PPT one by one. Ask students to speak out them quickly.
T: Now I will present the words at random. Let me see who can speak out them quickly and correctly
Ss: OK!
S1: Thin!
S2: Tall!
S3: Fat!

3. I ask & You answer.
(1)Let students look at the picture carefully and predict the main idea, then answer the questions. (课件出示:教材P25 Let’s learn的图片)

Students listen to the recording and answer the above questions.
According to the recording,try to mark the words with the sound.
Students watch the cartoon carefully. Then read after watching it.
4. Make your own dialogue.
T: Look at the picture of “Let’s learn” again, then make your own dialogue.
Make the model:
S1: Look at this monkey. It’s thin.
S2: Look at that pig. Ha!It’s so fat.
S3: Wow! Look at the giraffe. It’s…
Step 3: Practice
1. Look and choose.
Students look at the pictures and choose the right answers, then read the sentences three times. (出示课件)
2. Look and say.
The teacher shows pictures of different animals. Students look at the pictures carefully. (出示课件)
The students need to describe the picture which is chosen by Teacher. And the students also need to use the following sentence patterns :
Look at that… It’s…
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
Let’s do
Play a game——I say you act.
Rule:The teacher say an order and the students need to act it out according to what the teacher says.
T: Be thin!
Ss: (Act it out.)

Act in groups/boys vs girls.
2. You act and I guess.
Put some word cards on the PPT. They are fat, thin, tall, and short
Invite some students to act out “fat, thin, tall, short…”, and others need to guess what they act and speak out the corresponding word.
