内容分析
本课是PEP小学英语三年级起点第二册Unit3第五课时。在本课时中,John
和Chen Jie继续参观动物园。他们看到了鸵鸟,并描述它的样子,由此引出重点词汇:small,big,short,long。这四个词汇要求学生会认读。Let’s do 和A部分的Let’s do相似,是个与身体部分与形容相关的指令性活动。主要内容是把眼睛睁大,眯小,把胳膊伸长、缩短。在活动中练习本课时的四个重点单词。让学生既对教学内容感兴趣又在多种形式游戏中,快乐地学习、操练,达到预定的教学目标。
课时目标
知识与能力
(1)能够听 说 认读单词“small, big, short, long”。
(2)能够熟练运用上述单词并通过多种活动运用句型“It has…”描述动物的特点。
(3)能够借助大量的肢体活动和思维活动,培养学生的观察能力 思维能力和表演能力。
(4)通过活动能够更好地掌握单词和句型,进一步培养语言交际能力。
过程与方法
首先,先整体呈现动物,再将具有big特征的动物身体部位圈出,给学生以直观的认识,引导学生归纳共有的特点,引导学生用句型“It has…”来讨论动物 通过对比引出“small”,并借助PPT呈现区别,使学生易于接受和掌握
其次,引导学生自己通过观察寻找符合“short”特征的动物身体部位并进行描述,培养学生的观察能力和语言综合运用能力 再用相同的方式,引导学生学习单词“long”,突出学生的主体地位,培养学生的自主学习能力 并通过问题引导学生观看并讨论动画,关注学生的有效参与,借助问题让学生把握教学内容,提取关键信息
最后,做游戏能够很好地调动学生的学习积极性,吸引学生的注意力,让他们在略显紧张的氛围中,强化对单词的记忆 Let’s do活动进一步巩固知识,调动学生多种感官的参与

在Let’s do部分,让学生根据所发出的指令做出相应的动作,会激发学生对本节课的学习的热情和兴趣。

Step 1: Warm-up & Revision & Lead-in
1.Greeting to each other.
2.Sing a song—At the zoo.(课件出示:教材第30页Let’s sing的歌曲,包括其歌词。)
3. Revision and lead-in.
Students read the words“fat,thin,tall,short,long” quickly.
T: Boys and girls, let’s review the words which we have learned last lesson. And try to use the words to make sentences.
Ss:OK!
Write down the above words on the blackboard.
Step 2: Presentation
1. Find and say.
(1) Teach the word “big”.
Show a picture and there are many animals at the zoo. (出示课件)
T: Look, children. Wow!There are many animals! Do you know what they are
Ss: They’re monkey, elephant, giraffe, panda, horse …
The teacher circles some parts of the animals’ bodies that are big, such as the elephant’s ears, the panda’s body… (出示课件)
T: Do they have the same feature Can you find?
Ss: Yes. They are all very big.
Teach the word “big” by the word card. Students read one by one.
T: (Point to the elephant’s ears.) It has…ears
Ss: It has big ears.
T: (Point to the giraffe’s body.) It has…body
Ss: It has a big body.
T: Good !
(2) Teach the word “small”.
The teacher circles some parts of the animals’ bodies that are small, such as the lion’s eyes, the monkey’s nose… (出示课件)
T: What about them Are they big,too
Ss: No, they’re small.
Teach the word “small” by the game: High and low voice.
T: And how to describe them
Ss: It has small eyes. It has a small nose.
(3) Teach the word “short”.
Let students look at the pictures carefully. (出示课件)
T: Can you find something “short” If you can,please say “It has (a) short…”
Teach the word “short” by the game: Say the opposite word.
S1: It (Pig) has short feet.
S2: It (Elephant) has a short tail.
S3: It (Bear) has a short neck.

(4) Teach the word “long”.

(2) Let students practice saying the dialogue in groups.
(3) Act it out.
Step 3: Practice
1. Fill in the blanks.
There are some words in the the following box and you should fill in the blanks by using the opposite word
First,let students remember the words for two minutes:

Then cover part of words and ask the students to fill in the blanks correctly. And check the answers with teacher together.
