内容分析
本课是PEP小学英语三年级起点第二册Unit3第四课时。本课时是在Part A
的基础上,继续学习如何描述动物的特征。主要强调动物某一身体部位的特征,使用句式:It has...。在Let’s talk部分,继续参观动物园,并描述大象的特征,引出本节课重点句式:Come here,children. It has a long nose.It has a short tail.It has small eyes and big ears.同时,需要能够听懂、会说单词:children和tail。Make a monster是一个手工制作活动。利用身体部位的图片拼出一个monster。学生可以准备一些身体部位的图片,然后做两个小组活动,由一人发出指令,另一人拼出怪物。
课时目标
知识与能力
(1)能够听 说 认读单词“big, small, long, short”。
(2)通过观察 谈论Let’s talk板块的图片,能够在PPT和教师的帮助下理解对话大意。
(3)能够按照正确的语音 语调及意群朗读对话,并在小组中进行角色表演。
(4)能够在情景中区分和运用句型“It has a+形容词+单数身体部位.”和“It has+形容词+复数身体部位.”。
(5)能够通过制作怪兽游戏活动,操练核心句型“It has…”。
过程与方法
首先,通过先叫一个学生上讲台上完成I say you do的活动,再到多个学生上讲台,以直观的方式引入新授单词child及其复数形式children,再借助PPT的呈现,对比鲜明,使学生易于掌握
其次,以“I have+身体部位.”为铺垫,引导学生将已学知识迁移到谈论动物特征上去,自然引出句型 “It has…” 利用实物展示,化抽象为具体,借助手势和肢体语言,帮助学生理解单词含义 并通过问题引导学生观看并讨论动画,培养学生的观察能力和逻辑推理能力
最后,小组创编对话,将所学知识灵活运用到实际生活中,达到学以致用的目的 自由会话练习培养学生的听说 认知能力以及语言综合运用的能力

通过“制作怪物”的手工活动,培养学生热爱生活并激发学生对动手操作的兴趣。

Step 1: Warm-up & Revision & Lead-in
1. Greeting to each other.
2. Revision and Lead-in. (课件出示:PEP 三上教材P25和P28 Let’s do)
T: Please stand up. Let’s chant and do the actions!
Step 2: Presentation
1 Learn the word “children”.
The teacher points to a student: Come here, S1.
T:Touch your nose. Close your eyes.
(The student comes to the front and does what the teacher says.)
S1:...(Act what he heard)
T:Good job,boy!
The teacher points to another student: Come here, S2
T:Open your mouth. Touch your face.
(The student comes to the front and does what the teacher says.)
S2:...(Act what she heard)
T:Well done,girl!
The teacher points to two girls and three boys: Come here, children.
Students come to the front and do what the teacher says.
T:Shake your legs. Clap your hands.
(The students come to the front and do what the teacher says.)
Ss:...(Act what they heard)
T: Very well, thank you.
(Then the teacher turns to the class, and points to different students.)
So we can say that he is a child, she is a child, and they are children. Read after me three times, please.
Explain to students the differences between “child” and “children” on the PPT. (出示课件)
Teach students the words “child, children” and write them down on the blackboard.
2. Look and say.
T: Hello, children! Look at me. I have two big eyes and two small ears. I have a small nose and a big mouth. I have two arms, two hands and two legs. Let’s talk about these animals together.
Ss: Yes!
(1) Show a picture of an elephant.
T: Look at the elephant. It has a body. It’s very…
Ss: It’s very big!
T: Yes. It has a big body. And it has two eyes. Are they big
Ss: No, they are small.
T: It has small eyes.
Then the teacher teach the words “big” and “small” . Then students point and try to read.
(2) Show a picture of a giraffe.
T: Can you describe it
S1: It has four legs.
T: Are they short or long (The teacher makes the gesture.)
Ss: Long!
T: Great! And it has a long neck, but what about the tail (Point to the tail.)
Ss: Short! It has a short tail.
Then the teacher teach the words “long, short, tail”. Then students point and try to read after teacher.
3. Watch and do.
(1) Watch and answer.
Put the picture of“Let’s talk”on PPT. Let students watch it carefully. (课件出示:教材第27页Let’s talk的图片。)
T: Look at the children. Who is at the zoo
Ss:Miss White,John,Chen Jie and Mike.
T:Right!Do you know what they are talking about
Ss: They are talking about the elephant.
(2) Watch and think. (课件出示:教材第27页Let’s talk的视频。)
Play the cartoon for the first time, then ask students some questions. Let students think the answers.
Q1:What does John say about the elephant?
Q2:What does Chen Jie say about the elephant?
Q3:What does Mike say about the elephant?
4. Read and act.
(1) Students try to read after the recording and pay attention to the pronunciation and the intonation. (出示课件:播放P27 Let’s talk的录音。)
(2) Ask students to practice the dialogue in groups.
(3) Act it out in groups.
Step 3: Practice
1. Guessing game.
Show some pictures of animals that are covered. (出示课件) Let students according to the description and have a guess what the animal is.
2. Make sentences by yourselves.
Let students make their own dialogues with animals in pairs, then act out. Give an example on the PPT.
Make a model:
S1:Look at the panda.
S2:Wow,it is big. And it’s black and white.
S1:You are right.
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
Make your monster.
Put some pictures about the parts of the animals’ body on the table.
One student describes the appearance of the monster by using the sentence: It has a (n)…
The other student pieces together a monster in the way of jigsaw according to what the student says.
S1: It has a big body.
S2: OK. Here’s a big body.

S1 & S2: Oh, here is our monster. Show it to the class.
