Unit 3 Using language 名师教学设计
课时内容:
本课时涉及的部分是语言知识运用、描写外貌特征和向家庭成员道歉,包括 Review: tenses, Physical appearances及 Saying sorry to family members三部分。Review tenses部分复习动词的5种时态,让学生在时间数轴的导引下,对动词表达的时间有清晰的认识和概念,进一步了解各种时态表达的具体时间点、基本结构和用法。Physical appearances部分描写了一家三口人体型、外貌的变化,旨在教会学生描写有关人物外貌的常用词汇以及写作方法。Saying sorry to family members是向家人道歉,旨在进行听读训练的同时,让学生进一步思考家人之间应该怎样相处,让学生学会宽容家人,与家人和睦相处。
课时目标:
1.掌握并记忆本课时的重点词汇 currently, regularly, responsible, memory, nowadays, skin, jogging, slim, nation, aim, issue, theme, observe, range, event, apologise, stress, impact, strength的用法,能在真实语境中灵活运用。
2.掌握动词常见的5种时态,学会在具体语境中运用正确的时态。通过复习动词时态,掌握时态的基本用法和时态的构成,并能在具体语境中灵活运用,提高在语法填空、短文改错题型的分析问题、解决问题的能力。
3.通过阅读描写家人外貌特征和向家人道歉的文章,学会宽容、谅解和爱,形成融洽、温馨的家庭氛围,对学生今后的成长大有裨益。
4.探索家人相处的方式,扩大学生的视野、丰富自己的人生经验和阅历。从而激发学生热爱家人、热爱家庭的情愫。
重点难点:

复习动词的5种时态,分清动词所表达的时间概念,弄清时态的意义,注意时态中的时间状语。尤其注意时间概念和在该时间范围内所发生的动作或存在的状态。难点:
能理解和运用该部分出现的重点词汇和短语。
教学准备:
教师准备:
准备好该部分内容的PPT和音频材料;准备活动的时间数轴,将“Past” “Present” “Future”制成卡片,以备讲解时态时让学生自己区分所表达的时间概念。将该部分的词汇融会贯通,做出图片、关联记忆等,帮助学生有效记忆并灵活运用。
学生准备:
1.课前查找动词的5种时态的基本用法,分别举例。
2.概括时态的构成,做成表格,对比归类。
3预习课本P30和P31的内容,找出新词汇,并猜测或查找其含义。
教学过程:
Step I Review: tenses
1.Ask students to read the sentences on Page 29 and tell the time periods they stand for.
2.Give enough examples to explain five tenses.
Guide students to analyse five tenses and their forms. Then ask students to give examples prepared in advance of class.
3.Use the picture of Activity 1 to sum up five tenses according to “Past, Present, Future”.
First ask students to do Activity 1 individually and then check the answers.
4.Do Activity 2 & Activity 3 on Page 29.
Ask students to share their answers with their partners and ask some groups to give a report to the class.
Choose the best group to praise in class.
Step II Physical appearances
1.Read the email on Page 30 to answer the following questions.
(1) What did Penny’s dad look like ten years ago
(2) What does Penny’s mum look like now and why
(3) How does Penny look different now compared to ten years ago
Ask students to answer the questions and check answers together.
2.Read the email again and fill in the table on Page 30.
3.Work in pairs and describe how your family members’ physical appearances have changed. For example:
My mother was/had… Now she is/has got…
Then fill in the table.

4.Write a brief introduction of your family members according to the table above.
Step III Saying sorry to family members
1.Ask students to read the short introduction of “Did you know ” and learn about the International Day of Families.
2.Ask students to listen to the conversation and choose the feelings that the speakers express.
3.Ask students to listen again and complete Alice’s Journal entry Then talk about how Alice’s mother makes an apology. Listen again if necessary.
4.Work in pairs and make dialogues about apologising to a family member. Then act out the conversation.
5.Work in pairs. Think about another situation in which you need to make an apology and have a similar conversation.
【设计意图】听力练习设置了相应的练习题,由浅入深,符合学生认知规律。让学生带着问题去听,有针对性有侧重点。Activity7是捕捉关键信息并作出选择,Activity8是填写文章中所空出来的词汇,基于口头英语表达的练习,也有词汇听写练习,不仅要判断出所听词汇,还要判断词汇在具体句子中应该采用的形式。
听后再组织对话练习,使听、说、读、写四种基本能力都调动起来,提高综合运用英语的能力。
Step IV Sum up
总结时态的基本结构和用法,并能根据给出的例子判断所运用的时态;在恰当的语境下,运用正确时态。

1.Give students some sentences to complete using proper tenses.
