Using plain illustration with the helps of videos, using dialogues when explaining words, using examples and comparisons in explaining poems.

Lead in 1. Brainstorm: when think about friends, what is the first word crossing your mind 2. Video about friendships and ask students some questions before watching the video. 1. Main activity 1 1. Show students about the poem of the friendship. (p.37) and ask them to summarize the characteristics of a poem.2. Tell the similarities and differences of Chinese poem and English poem with the examples of some famous masterpieces. 3. Play the Scottish poem and song: Auld Lang Syne for students to illustrate the combination of a poem and friendships. 1. Students can learn the characteristics of poem and know some famous English famous poets.2. Students can tell the differences and similarities of Chinese and English poems.3.
