课时内容：
本课时是一名野外摄影师的自述。作者讲述了自己在拍摄过程中，偶遇体型庞大的熊的经过，场面令人胆战心惊，毕生难忘。作者的遭遇告诉我们：当遇到危险时，不能慌乱，更不能掉头逃跑，应该保持冷静。短文语言生动，让读者有身临其境之感。通过阅读，学生在潜移默化中学会词汇、句式的运用，提高分析问题、解决问题的能力。

1.掌握并记忆本课时的重点词汇 button, recover, shock, element, observe, variety, per, path, despite, concentrate, scene, image, reaction, file和短语 be known for, at a speed of, stare at, after all, end with, be based on的用法，并能熟练运用。
2.通过阅读文章，学生提取关键词，了解故事发生的先后顺序，培养学生的逻辑思维、推理判断和分析概括的能力。
3.通过了解摄影记者的遭遇，学生学会冷静、客观地处理问题，培养临危不乱、勇于克服困难的品质。

Step I Lead-in
Teacher shows the pictures on the screen and asks students some questions.
T: Look at the two pictures and predict what happens in the story.

What career is he likely to take

Step II Reading
1.Fast reading.
Read the passage and do Exercise 3 on Page 58.
Number the events in the correct order.
Check answers together.
2.Careful reading.
Read the text again and do Exercise 4.
Learn to guess the unfamiliar words according to context.
