Content Analysis
Understanding Ideas aims at developing students’ core competence of understanding the language and structure of the context, facilitating the future comprehension of various topics as well as the cultivation of cultural identity and moral value. B1U5 points out the problems that the human society and nature are currently facing, and meanwhile, leads the students to an ideal world where people and animals can live in harmony with one another. This is also what the passage intends to highlight-- the human-nature relationship goes beyond the extent to which an individual sees or hears. It can be understood as an adaptive mindset and our longstanding actions and experiences that connect us to nature. With this main topic as a prerequisite, the teaching plan of The Monarch’s Journey hopes to, apart from improving students’ reading skills, demonstrate that actions, no matter good or bad, will lead to consequences, and encourage students to become a person who cares and has the ability to act.
