教学目标: At the end of the class, the students will be able to: 1. read and learn about the story of the bus driver—Wang Ping. 2. learn to help people when they’re in trouble.
教学重点: 1.Key vocabulary: passenger, off, onto, trouble, hit on the side of the road, get off, without doing, have a heart problem, wait for, to one’s surprise, agree to go, move... onto..., thanks to, be saved by, in time, think about doing, right away, get into 2.Key sentences: a.Bus No. 26 was going along Zhonghua Road when the driver saw an old man lying on the side of the road. b.She said that the man had a heart problem and should go to the hospital. c. He told the passengers that he must take the man to the hospital. 3. Structures: see... lying, without thinking, to his surprise, thanks to

Step 3 While-reading Careful reading. 1.Read paragraph 1 and answer the questions. a. What happened b. When and where did it happen c. Who were there 2. Read the passage carefully and fill in the blanks. 3. Read para. 2 and put the sentences in correct order. 本部分是课文细读部分。每读完一段都要完成相应的任务,以检测对文章细节的理解。通过问题设计,让学生带着问题阅读,提高他们的英语阅读能力以及解决问题的能力。
Step 4 Post- reading 1.Walk on 3b. Read the passage again and check the things that happened in the story. 2.Fill in the blanks according to the story. 3. Walk on 3c. Discuss the questions with a partner. a.Why was Wang Ping surprised that passengers agreed to go to the hospital with him b. Did the passengers think Wang Ping did the right thing How do you know c. Do you agree that people often do not help others because they don’t want to get into trouble Why or why not 再读课文后,填入适当的单词并讨论问题。这个过程让学生进一步理解课文。
Step 5 Language points Explain the language points and ask the ss to read them. Point out the usages of the following. 1.see sb. doing/do sth. 2. without doing. 3. to one’s surprise 4. agree with 5.trouble 6.right away 通过阅读使学生加深对重难点理解,培养独立思维能力及对这些词语的运用能力。
Step 6 Summary Have a summary about the key phrases and some phrases about illnesses. 此部分对本节课所学的短语进行了归纳和总结,这个环节培养学生把握重难点的能力和归纳概括能力。
Step 7 Exercises Practice the language points by doing these exercises. 通过完成句子,翻译句子等形式巩固所学的语言点。
Step 8 中考链接 Choose the exercise to practice the usage of have trouble doing. 本部分设计主要精选have trouble doing的中考题,针对九下学生临近中考,引导学生学习。
