Unit 3 Starting out & Understanding ideas名师教学设计
课时内容:
本课时的话题是体育锻炼活动,包括 Starting out和Understanding ideas两部分。Starting out是导入部分,通过图片观察和视频观看,了解不同的运动,并进一步谈论自己最喜欢的运动,探讨运动的益处。Understanding ideas部分主要介绍了全世界流行的运动—足球,以及足球的起源、发展、流行的原因。
课时目标:
1.认知并灵活运用本课时的重点词汇 basis, represent, equipment, content, defend, conflict, assure以及短语 to one’s heart’s content。
2.通过速读、精读等方式,引导学生由浅入深,逐层推进,加深对文章的理解,掌握不同的阅读技巧和方法。
3.通过阅读文章,了解足球的起源、发展以及流行的原因,进一步了解运动锻炼的好处。

1.在网上搜索了解足球的有关信息,包括起源、发展以及流行的原因。
2.预习 Starting out和 Understanding ideas两部分的内容,通过查字典等方式提前解决词汇问题。
教学过程:
Step I Starting out
1.The teacher guides the students to look at the pictures on Page 25 of the textbook and asks them to speak out the sports.
2. Play the video prepared in advance, and ask the questions:
(1) What sports are mentioned in the video
(2) Which one do you like best Why
3. Work in groups.
Ask students to talk about their favourite sports and the reasons why they like them.
Record what they discussed in the form.

Step II Reading
1.Pre-reading Ask students to look at the picture on Page 26 and learn about what the signs stand for in football games.
Ask students to look at the title of the passage and talk about their understanding of it.
2.Fast reading
Fill in the form about football.

3.Careful reading
(1)Ask students to read the passage ag retell it.
【设计意图】可借助速读部分的表格,根据文章主要框架进行复述。弄清文章主要内容,将之转化成自己的语言,再进行语言输出,进一步锻炼了学生的归纳概括以及口头表达能力。

4.Post-reading
Finish Activity 3 & 4 on Page 28.
(1)Activity 3要求选出作者的写作意图,结合文章内容,进行归纳、排除,要求学生在比较、辨析的基础上做出最佳选择。
(2)Activity 4以思维导图的形式将文章主线呈现出来,有助于学生提取关键信息、归纳整理原文,锻炼学生原文定位、确定答案角度的能力。
Step III Sum up
1.总结本节课的重点词汇、短语和句型,采用表格、思维导图等形式更清晰地了解它们的用法,形成知识脉络。
2.利用关键词提示的方式,让学生用简短的英语概括文章主要内容。
3.培养自己对运动的热爱,并体会运动带给自己的好处。
Step IV Homework
1.Sum up what we learned in class and take notes.
2.Preview the next period.
