Summary
The author felt full of confidence before the performance, because he thought he had known much about Hamlet. While watching the show, he felt greatly surprised at the amazing costumes and masks the actors wore. What he found most incredible was to see the actor do a backflip, which he had never seen before. He could perfectly understand what was going on and felt the strong emotions of the characters: love, anger, fear, or grief, because the actor’s movement, mime, and singing helped get the meanings across to him. He felt on the edge of his seat after watching, and strongly recommended it for those who wanted to see something dazzling, because it just ticked all the right boxes!

After learning so many aspects of Peking Opera, can you make a summary of Peking Opera in your own words
Summary
Peking Opera is a classic form of Chinese performance which dates back to the late 18th century. It usually combines the music of Chinese instruments, singing, miming, dancing, and history. The musical instruments are traditional Chinese ones like jinghu, erhu and yueqin. The actors wear colorful costumes and facial makeup, indicating different characteristics, age, gender and social status (社会地位). The stage is simply set with tables, chairs, or horsewhips and all the actors need to master the basic skills of movements while singing or reciting.
