一、模仿朗读
Pandas live high up in the mountains of Central and Western China. They live in the bamboo forests there.
Pandas in the wild usually eat bamboo. In zoos, their menu includes bamboo, apples and carrots. A giant panda can eat as much as 30 kilograms of bamboo a day.
Pandas like to live on their own. They need to eat a lot to stay healthy, so they spend more than 12 hours a day eating. Although they are big and heavy, it is not difficult for them to climb trees. They are strong enough to protect themselves.

W: I went to Wolong National Nature Reserve. It is the earliest, largest and best-known panda reserve in China.
M: Oh, tell me more about it.

M: Why is that
W: Humans catch them for their meat, fat and oil. And the sea is seriously polluted because people throw rubbish into the sea.
M: That’s terrible. Although I don’t like whales because they’re too scary, we need to do something to protect them.
W: You’re right. But how can we do that
M: How about making some posters to let people know the importance of protecting wild animals.
W: That’s a good idea. Let’s do it right now.

W: Yes. Pandas are pink at birth. The black and white color comes after about 3 weeks.
M: So, is the milk for the baby pandas
W: Yes. Some panda mothers don’t have enough milk for their babies. So we have to prepare milk for the baby pandas.
M: When do baby pandas start to eat bamboo
W: Six months after they’re born. And this is when they start to grow faster.
M: Are pandas easy to take care of
W: Not at all. Baby pandas often die from illnesses and do not live very long.
M: How do you like your job
W: It’s difficult, but I love it. For me, the pandas are like my own babies. I wash, feed and play with them every day.
5.They’re pink.
6.She’s a panda keeper.
四、回答问题
Have you ever seen white lions before In a zoo in South Korea, there are a couple of white baby lions. The two little lions are not with their family yet because they are too small and can easily get hurt. For a long time, they will stay where they are now — in a small place which looks like a shop window.
Unlike other lions, white lions have blue or gold eyes. White lions are very rare animals and there are only about 100 white lions in the world. A white lion can live for about 18 years. The Global White Lion Protection Trust (GWLPT) is doing its best to help protect the lion population.
7.They are too small and can easily get hurt.
8.It looks like a shop window.
9.They are blue or gold.
10.A white lion can live for about eighteen years.
To Save Endangered Animals
Mary is a volunteer of The World Wide Fund for Nature. She introduces some easy things we can do to save endangered animals. First of all, learn about endangered animals in our area. To protect them, it’s necessary to learn about how interesting and important they are. Second, protect the places where they live and make them safe enough to live. Third, reduce our use of water so that animals that live in or near water can have a better chance of survival. Fourth, take our own bags when shopping. This will reduce the amount of waste we produce. Last but not least, never buy products made from endangered animals.
