常用短语：congratulate on sb. 向某人祝贺
congratulate sb.on sth.为某事向某人祝贺
其名词为congratulation。
Congratulations！常用于口语中，表示祝贺某人取得成功、成绩等。
We congratulated him on having passed the exam.我们祝贺他通过了考试。
2.You were all so full of energy and thirsty for knowledge.
be thirsty for 渴望；渴求
be thirsty for为固定短语，其后可跟名词、代词或动词-ing形式作宾语。其中thirsty作形容词，意为“渴望的”。
【拓展延伸】thirsty作形容词，还可意为“口渴的”。
He is thirsty for making greater progress.
A crow was thirsty and looked for water everywhere.
3.I don’t need to tell you that life in senior high school will be harder and that you have many difficult tasks ahead of you.
ahead 是副词，意为“向前面；在前面”，常用ahead of 结构，表示“(在空间或时间上比某人或某事)更早，更前或比……更先进，领先”，还常用于go ahead表示“前进；先走；开始吧”。
He left one day ahead of me.他比我早一天离开。
He is ahead of me in English.他的英语比我强。
The work was done ahead of time.工作提前完成了。
4.As you set out on your new journey,you shouldn’t forget where you came from.
set out on something开始进行新的或重要的事情
set out 出发;启程
【拓展】　set out还表示“着手……,开始……”的意思,常用于set out to do sth.结构,表示“着手做某事”。
The train will set out in two hours.火车将在两个小时后出发。
They set out to perform the operation.他们开始动手术。
He is setting out to write a novel.他正着手写一本小说。
set out on sth. “开始进行新的或重要的事情”set out for sp. “出发去……”
She will set out for Paris tomorrow.明天她将启程去巴黎。
(2) set out to do sth. 打算或着手做某事
He set out to fix up the bike himself.
他开始自己动手修理自行
5.It is always hard to separate from those whom you have spent so much time with for the past three years.
whom引导的是定语从句,修饰先行词those,whom在定语从句中作spent的宾语。
separate/'sep r t/adj.单独的；分离的
/'sep re t/v.分开；分离
separate…from…表示“将……与……分开”,指把原来连在一起或接近的部分分隔开来。
This is the man whom I talk with.
这就是我和他谈话的那个人。
This patient should be separated from the others.
这个病人应该隔离。
6.Never fail to be thankful to the people around you.
此句为否定结构的祈使句。祈使句否定结构大多由助动词don’t承担。
但若要加强语气，可用never替代don’t，表达汉语“千万不要……；一定别……”的意思。
若要进一步强调，表达语气更强的禁止，则可使用“Never, ever…”结构。
别来迟了。(不要迟到。)

对人一定不要讲脏话。
