Unit 1 Developing ideas & Presenting ideas 名师教学设计
课时内容:
Developing ideas分为两部分：第一部分是一篇有关“善意的谎言”的议论文，文章开头以苏格兰著名历史小说家和诗人沃尔特·斯科特（Walter Scott）的代表诗句“哦，当我们开始练习欺骗的时候，我们编织了一张多么复杂的网”引出话题：尽管诚实很重要，说谎是不对的，但在有些场合下，善意的谎言能化解尴尬，给对方留下余地。文章的中心段落列举了人们说善意的谎言的原因。最后一段列举了善意的谎言的弊端，提出善意的谎言说多了，对方会信以为真，从而引发思考：我们在生活中该如何把握尺度。文章脉络清晰，条理分明，引导学生观察议论文的结构和构思。第二部分 Writing an essay通过节选德国著名哲学家叔本华（Schopenhauer）的作品《豪猪困境》，让学生了解人和人之间的交往需要保持一定的空间距离。每个人都有一个能够把握的自我空间，它犹如一个无形的“气泡”为每个人划分了一定的“领域”。而当这个“领域”被他人触犯时，人便会觉得不舒服、不安全，甚至开始恼怒。
Presenting ideas部分通过几则人际交往技巧的名言，让学生理解名言的含义，并学会人际交往的技巧和方法，运用到实际生活中。
课时目标：
1.掌握本课时的重点单词 deceive，justify，frank，tear，moreover，independent，apart，fence和短语 to what extent，in advance，hide from，consist of，a series of，以及重要句型，并能熟练运用。
2.通过阅读《善意的谎言》一文，引导学生了解议论文的写作方法和技巧，理清议论文的基本结构和例证法的运用。
3.通过本课时的学习，让学生领悟人与人之间相处的和谐模式，了解人际交往的技巧，处理好身边的同学关系、师生关系，营造良好的人际交往氛围。

Step I Leading in

2. Careful reading.
（1）Read the passage again and retell it according to the form above.

【设计意图】复述的过程是将学过的文章经过加工处理，用自己的语言进行口头表达。这种表述不是对已知材料简单地、机械地重复，而是经过自己大脑语言中枢的“加工”，创造性地再现已知语言材料的内容。教师要在每个学生复述完毕后给予评价及鼓励，同时纠正错误。通过反馈，学生可以分享成功的喜悦，互相学习，互相借鉴，使以后的课文复述变得更好、更精彩。
【注意】该文章是一篇议论文，不同于以往常见的记叙文，因此也可采用“接力”复述这种形式。教师可在黑板上写出提示，让学生按提示一个接着一个复述，由三四个学生共同完成。

（2）Work in groups. Give a talk on the importance of honesty following the steps below.
Ask students to illustrate the definition of honesty and then explain the importance and necessity of being honest by giving some practical examples in daily life to support their explanations. Finally，come to the conclusion：We should be honest.
Step III Writing an essay
1.Ask students to read the fable and choose the message they think it conveys.

2.Ask students to make notes based on the passage in Activity 5 with their own opinions.
3.Write an essay using the expressions on Page 11.
