课时内容
本课时涉及的部分是语言知识运用,包括 Present perfect passive,Careers in science 和 Invention stories三部分。
Present perfect passive部分讲解现在完成时的被动语态的结构及用法。
Careers in science部分介绍了几个不同时代、不同国家、不同领域的发明家,他们在各自的领域内做出了重大发明,推动了人类文明的进步。
Invention stories部分主要介绍了阿尔茨海默病的有关情况以及一款帮助患者的智能鞋子的发明过程。
课时目标
1.掌握并记忆本课时的重点单词 beyond,significant,injure,accurate,species,cure以及短语 due to,along with,be regarded as,the number of,学会在真实语境中灵活运用。
2.掌握现在完成时的被动语态的结构及用法。
3.通过阅读介绍不同领域的科学家以及他们的发明的文章,了解介绍人物的基本方法,并加深对该部分内容的理解,扩大知识面。
4.科学家在各自的领域里勤奋工作,甚至废寝忘食,引导学生学习科学家这种忘我的工作精神以及一心造福人类的高尚情怀。通过该部分的学习,了解更多关于发明家和发明的故事,倡导学生认真观察生活、了解实际需要并致力于努力学习,改善现有的生活,提高自己的科学素养,多一份社会责任和担当。

教学准备:

1.做好该部分内容的PPT和音频材料。
2.准备好有关科学家以及其发明故事的相关视频材料。
学生准备:
1.课前查找描写科学家的不同词汇和写作方式方法,并能用简短的英语描述不同领域的科学家。
2.上网查找含有现在完成时的被动语态的句子,体会其用法。
3.预习课本P29~31的内容,找出该部分的新词汇,并根据上下文猜测其含义。
教学过程:
Step I Grammar
Present perfect passive——现在完成时的被动语态
【备注】语法知识点讲解详见第二教案“重点语法精讲”。
1.Finish Activity 1 on Page 29 of the textbook.
2.Give enough examples of the usages of present perfect passive.
(1)Our classroom has been cleaned. You needn’t clean it now.
(2)The young writer’s novel has not been punished yet.
(3)The child has been taken care of by Grandma these years.
(4)The house has been built. We can move in.
Guide students to sum up the usages of present perfect passive. Then ask students to give examples which they searched from the Internet.
3.Finish Activity 2&3 on Page 29.
(1)Rewrite the underlined parts using the present perfect passive.

①Many things in our lives have already been affected by it.
②3D-printed hamburgers have been served by some restaurants in London to customers.
③But perhaps the most significant success that has been achieved to date by people is in medicine.
④Human body parts,including a beating heart have been made with 3D printing technology.
⑤A new 3D-printed shell has been given by people to a turtle injured in a forest fire.
(2)Ask students to imagine they are Dr Moore. Then look at the pictures on Page 29 and tell the police about the damage and loss to their lab. Use the present perfect passive where appropriate.

Step Ⅱ Careers in science
1.Look at the pictures on Page 30 and describe the scientists and their inventions in different fields.
2.Finish Activity 5 on Page 30. Pay attention to the language that describes their careers.

Step Ⅲ Invention stories
1.Read “Did You know ” and learn about things about Alzheimer’s disease.
2.Finish Activity 7&8 on Page 31.
(1)Listen to the conversation and number the pictures in the correct order.
(2)Listen again and complete the notes.

(1)Act out the conversation about the invention of the telephone.
(2)Ask students to choose another story of an invention they know and have a similar conversation.
【设计意图】该部分学习基本按照课本设置的顺序来完成,由浅入深,逐层加深难度,锻炼了学生读、听、写、说的能力。通过读“Did You know?”部分,了解阿尔茨海默病,然后通过听录音,先解决浅层的理解,再记录听力的要点,完成 Activity7和 Activity8。接下来是说的环节,通过语言输入,学生掌握相关词汇和句式,在此基础上做对话练习。整个环节内容不多,但环环相扣,遵循了语言的认知规律,设置科学、合理。

总结现在完成时的被动语态的含义和用法,并注意该部分新学词汇的运用。

1. Give students some examples to fill in the blanks with the present perfect passive.
