Unit 3 Developing ideas & Presenting ideas 名师教学设计
课时内容:
Developing ideas分为两部分：第一部分介绍了本杰明·富兰克林的风筝实验。富兰克林（Benjamin Franklin，1706年1月17日—1790年4月17日）出生于美国马萨诸塞州波士顿，美国政治家、物理学家。据称在1752年，富兰克林进行了一项著名的实验：在雷雨天气中放风筝，以证明“雷电”是由电力造成的。至今仍有不少人对于本杰明·富兰克林当年是否进行了这样的实验，或实验到底是如何进行的心存疑虑。事实上，科学家们都认为如果本杰明·富兰克林真的用手触碰导下了雷电的钥匙，他将会因电击而死亡。第二部分 Writing an experiment report介绍了神奇的瓶子的实验。该文章以实验报告的形式呈现，句式短小，采用祈使句的格式，简单易懂。
Presenting ideas部分主要让学生讨论身边常见的一些电器的发展、变化，例如：早期的录音机、电话及电脑等以及预想未来还将发生的改变，并用本单元所学知识进行描述。
课时目标：
1.掌握并记忆本课时的重点单词 declaration，experiment，attach，conduct，account，proof，procedure以及短语 be attached to，contribute to，come up with。
2.通过快速阅读、跳读等阅读方式，快速获取主要信息。
3.通过阅读本杰明·富兰克林的风筝实验，解决该部分设置的问题，培养学生分析问题、解决问题的思维品质。
重点难点:

Step I Leading in
The teacher asks the students some questions:
（1）Do you know something about Benjamin Franklin？
（2）What was he known for in the world？

Ask students to explain their understanding of the saying “Seeing is believing”, and then give a talk about it. They may use information in the passage as examples.
Step III Writing an experiment report
1.Read the instructions for the experiment and answer the questions.
2.Complete the boxes with the information in Activity 5 on Page 35. Do further research if necessary.
3.Write a report of the experiment.
4.Share your report with the class.
Step IV Homework
Review the language points learned in class.
