The first responders managed to revive (恢复) her consciousness on the spot. “My boys! Ralph! Ray!” the woman cried out to her kids as the ambulance took her away. Chloe said, “Don’t worry. Everything will be alright. I’ll take care of your sweet boys.” She kept her promise and looked after the kids like a grandmother. She took Ralph and Ray in and let them sleep in the bedroom that was specially made for her granddaughter Eva.
It was during these days that she knew that the boys’ father died of illness. Chloe knew that the neighbor, Phoebe, had been trying to make ends meet by selling sweaters and socks that she knit. Looking at Phoebe’s children eat and drink with such joy, she realized how much she longed to see her little Eva. By the time Phoebe came home from the hospital, the kids had already started calling Chloe “Grandma”.

But the time-consuming and troublesome idea was quickly denied. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration went across Dario’s mind. Nothing could serve as a bridge to remove the distance between them and their new neighbors better than a party. They both loved the fantastic idea. Over the next few days, they sent out invitations and prepared desserts for their guests. They decorated the apartment with streamers and party lights. A smile of expectation could be seen on their faces as they held a strong belief that it would be a perfect beginning of their new life in the new neighborhood.
Finally, the day of the party arrived. Some guests brought presents. Others brought flowers. Some even brought desserts to share.

After finding a McDonald's and ordering two Happy Meals for my girls, I ordered an additional 15 lunches and we set out to deliver them. It was exciting. We would pull alongside a beggar, make a contribution, and tell him or her that we hoped things would get better. Then we'd say, “Oh, by the way, here's lunch. ” And then we would head to the next crossroad.
It was the best way to give. There wasn't enough time for us to introduce ourselves or explain what we were going to do, nor was there time for them to say anything back to us. The Act of Kindness was anonymous and empowering for each of us, and we loved what we saw in the rearview mirror: a surprised and delighted person holding up his lunch bag and just looking at us as we drove off. It was wonderful!
