sandwich
也叫三文治，欧美传统方便食品。一种典型的西方快速食品，是把面包切成两份後，夹些肉类，如火腿、香肠、培根(烟肉)……加上奶酪(不同的翻译]，这里指cheese，即起司、芝士……)和各种调料制作而成，吃法简单，面包经常轻微地涂上黄油(牛油)或盖在用以调味的烘烤，这能提高三文治的味道。

Origin of sandwich
sandwich本来是英国东南部一个
不出名的小镇，镇上有一位Earl of
Sandwich名叫John Montagu，他是个酷爱玩纸牌的人，他整天沉溺于纸牌游戏中，已经到了废寝忘食的地步。仆人很难侍候他的饮食，便将一些菜肴、鸡蛋和腊肠夹在两片面包之间，让他边玩牌边吃饭。没想到Montagu见了这种食品大喜，并随口就把它称作“sandwich”，以后饿了就喊：“拿sandwich来！”其他赌徒也争相仿效，玩牌时都吃起sandwich来。不久，sandwich就传遍了英伦三岛，并传到了欧洲大陆，后来又传到了美国。

slice n.薄片; 一部分。
多指切得很薄的一片食物。
slice 比 piece 多了一点点意思,指切(cut)下来的又薄(thin)又扁(flat)的piece.
slice也是可数名词,主要用于表示名词的数量,常用“数词+slice(s)+名词”结构。
