课时内容:
Developing ideas分为两部分:第一部分是一篇名为“The Importance of humour(《幽默的重要性》)”的议论文,文章以美国著名作家马克·吐温和我国著名作家林语堂的故事作为例证,来强调幽默的重要性。本文按照议论文的顺序组织文章结构,先提出论点:幽默是人类行为中最基本也最重要的,接着用马克·吐温和林语堂的故事来佐证论点,最后进一步强调论点,得出结论。第二部分Writing about a comedian通过介绍喜剧演员查理·卓别林的贡献,引导学生学会描写人物:先是总体概述人物的主要信息,包括职业、所做贡献以及取得的成就;接下来陈述自己喜欢这个人物的原因,并介绍他的代表作;最后对人物进行简要评价。
Presenting ideas部分通过问答的形式,引导学生学习单口喜剧表演的内容,了解单口喜剧的表演形式和布局过程,然后自主创作并表演,让学生在真实的场景中掌握所学内容。
课时目标:

The teacher shows the pictures of mark Twain and Lin Yutang and asks students some questions:

【设计意图】复述的过程是将学过的文章经过加工处理,用自己的语言,以口头形式进行表述。这种表述不是对已知材料简单地、机械地重复,而是经过自己大脑言语中枢的“加工”,创造性地再现已知语言材料的内容。教师要在每个学生复述完毕后给予中肯的评价及热情的鼓励,同时纠正一些错误。通过反馈,复述者本人及其他学生都能了解到自已存在的长处及不足。大家可以分享成功的喜悦,互相学习,互相借鉴,使以后的课文复述变得更好、更精彩。
注意:该文章是一篇议论文,不同于以往常见的记叙文文本,因此可采用“多人复述”的形式。根据速读部分的表格提示,先由一个学生复述论点,再分别由两个学生复述马克·吐温和林语堂的故事,最后找一个学生概述结论,从而完整复述课文。

Before discussion,the teacher should explain the meaning of punch line.
A punch line concludes a joke and is intended to make people laugh. In a broader sense, a punch line can also refer to the unexpected and funny conclusion of any performance, situation or story.

Step IV Presenting ideas
1.Work in groups of four.Think about some popular stand-up comedy acts on TV and describe the features and humourous effects.Share it in groups and make key points.
2.Choose a topic,prepare a comedy act and complete the outline of your act.
3.Write a script according to Activity 2,including opening,main body and closing.
