本课时包括 Starting out和 Understanding ideas两部分。
Starting out是导入部分,包括观看视频回答问题和看图片回答问题两个环节。通过观看视频,引导学生观察视频中提到的体育赛事,并思考这些体育赛事的特征。通过看图片,了解三名杰出的运动健将:中国奥运会第一枚金牌获得者射击选手许海峰,加拿大的职业冰球明星韦恩·格雷茨基,俄罗斯撑杄跳运动员叶莲娜·伊辛巴耶娃。通过该活动,了解更多关于运动员的成绩和故事,并说出最鼓舞自己上进的运动员,可简要列举他们的主要事迹和成就。
Understanding ideas部分以人物传记的笔触讲述了美国传奇运动员斯蒂芬·库里的成功之路。父亲是职业篮球运动员,因此斯蒂芬从小就耳濡目染,在祖父搭建的简易的篮球场上流下奋斗的汗水。虽然他的身高不被教练看好,但是斯蒂芬没有放弃,刻苦训练,练就了卓绝的功力,成就了一代传奇。斯蒂芬的努力进取、坚持锻炼的精神鼓舞着很多运动爱好者。
课时目标:
1.认知并灵活运用本课时的重点单词 association、shot、bounce、sharpen、expectation、self-belief以及短语a far cry from、give way、follow in one’s footsteps、carry on、beyond one’s expectations、in a row、in all directions、aim at、end up doing、set out to do sth、believe in等。
2.通过速读、精读等方式,引导学生由浅入深,逐层推进,加深对文章的理解,并掌握不同的阅读技巧和方法。通过对所设置题目的解答,让学生学会根据关键词提取重要信息,理清文章线索,并学会深层次分析问题,进行语言加工,提高归纳概括、推理判断的能力。
3.通过阅读文章,了解运动精神,推而广之,这种精神不仅用于运动,也可在生活、学习等其他方面激励我们不断前行。
