Unit 6 Developing ideas & Presenting ideas 名师教学设计
课时内容:
Developing ideas部分分为两部分:第一部分介绍了世界上最好的工作——岛屿看护员,呼吁更多的人保护大堡礁、热爱自然、保护环境。第二部分 Writing a job advertisement要求写一则招聘广告,并根据几则工作信息学会概括招聘广告的基本要素:工作名称、工作地点、工作职责和福利。
Presenting ideas部分通过讨论自然遗址是否应该向大众开放的话题,让学生了解自然遗址的重要性和价值,从而更加热爱自然、保护自然。
课时目标:
1.掌握本课时的重点单词via、candidate、applicant、favour、advertise、genuine、salary、negotiable、preference、qualification、waist和短语 in favour of、be made up of、in addition to、be aware of、as well as、be described as、be home to以及重要句型,并能熟练运用。
2.了解守护、宣传大堡礁的工作,加深对生态环境保护重要性和必要性的认识,呼吁人们保护大堡礁、保护自然生态环境、热爱自然、与自然和谐相处。
3.引导学生分析招聘广告的基本要素,并根据所给语段内容仿写招聘广告。

Step I Lead-in
Watch the video and answer the questions .
·Which natural heritage site is introduced in the video
·What kind of threat is it facing .
Suggested answers: ·Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. ·The reef is threatened by human activities: industry along the coast pollutes its waters; illegal fishing is reducing the number of fish; climate change caused by human activities has many negative effects on the coral.

(1) Do Activity 3 on Page 70.
Choose the topic sentences for the paragraphs and write them on the lines to complete the passage.

Step Ⅲ Writing a job advertisement
1. Read the job advertisement and answer the questions.
·How long will the job last
·What are the responsibilities of the job
·What benefits does it offer
Suggested answers: ·The job will last for four months. ·The responsibilities of the job are to monitor the area or algae, work on ships removing algae from water. ·It provides accommodation and meals and the applicant can negotiate the salary with the employer.
2. Read what the three people say about their jobs on Page 71. Choose one of the jobs and complete the notes.
3. Write a job advertisement. Do further research if necessary.
4. Work in pairs. Make improvements to each other’s job advertisements and share them with the class.

Step IV Presenting ideas
1. Work in groups. Read the two points of view about whether natural heritage sites should be open to the public and take sides.
