Step I Warm-up
Greet the class. Then play a relaxing song “City of Sky”. Ask students about their feelings after listening.
T:Today,we are going to study Lesson 2 “Understanding and coping with stress”. What’s the meaning of stress?

T:Stress means pressure or worry caused by the problems in sb’s life. Do you understand what I say?
T:In our life,we often face all kinds of stress and worries. Think about situations in your life.

Step II Brainstorm
T:Too much stress for a long time does to our health. We must think of ways to get rid of it. Now look at the diagram on Page 12 Activity 1. Do you find these situations stressful or relaxing

1.T:We will listen to a radio interview about stress but before listening,please look at “Skill Builder—Making Predictions” and read it.
Skill Builder Making Predictions Making a prediction is guessing what is going to be mentioned. Before you listen, look at the title, pictures and keywords to guess the types of information you will hear. Use your general knowledge and personal experience to help you.

T:Recall what you have learnt about plete the summary with the words from the interview. I guess maybe you have the same feelings and experience.
