1. Crossing the River to School
【辨析】cross, across与crossing
cross 动词,意为“横过;越过”。 cross =go across
across 介词或副词,意为“横过”。 crossing 名词,意为“十字路口”。
Please be careful when you cross the road. 当你过马路时请小心。
Go across /Cross the street and you can find it. 穿过这条街你就能找到它。
Turn left at the second crossing. 在第二个十字路口向左拐。
2. For many students, it is easy to get to school.
本句是“It is + adj. + (for/of sb.) + to do sth.”结构,意为“(某人/对某人来说)做某事是……的”。其中It 为形式主语,后面的动词不定式“to do sth.”是句子的真正主语。本句为了强调,把“For many students”放到了句首。正常的语序应该是“It is easy for many students to get to school.”。
It is difficult to get there. =To get there is difficult.
到达那儿是困难的。
注意:① “It is + adj. + (for sb.) + to do sth.”中的for后跟对象,意为“就……而言;对……来说”,句中的形容词是描述事物特征的,如easy, difficult, important等。
It is difficult for me to speak French.
对我来说,说法语是困难的。
“It is + adj. + of sb. + to do sth.”中的形容词是表示人物品质及性格特征的词,如:kind, nice, clever等。
It is nice of you to help me. 帮助我你真善良。
3. There is a very big river between their school and the village.
between 用作介词,意为“在……之间”。between ... and ...意为“在……和……之间”,连接两个并列的成分。
There is a window between walls. 墙之间有一个窗户。
He sits between Tom and Jack. 他坐在汤姆和杰克之间。
【辨析】between与among
between between一般用于两者之间,其宾语往往是表示两者的名词或代词,或者是由and连接的两个人或事物。
among 一般用于三者或三者以上的人或物之中,其宾语可以是复数的名词或代词,也可以是集体名词。
This village is between two mountains. 这个村庄位于两座山之间。
That village is among the mountains. 那个村庄位于群山之中。
4. There is no bridge and the river runs too quickly for boats.
no此处用作形容词来修饰名词,意为“没有”,既可以修饰可数名词,也可以修饰不可数名词。修饰单数可数名词时,no相当于not a(n),但在语气上no要比not a(n)强;修饰可数名词复数或不可数名词时,no相当于not any。
I have no brothers. =I don’t have any brothers.
我没有兄弟。

11-year-old是一个复合形容词,作定语,修饰名词boy,意为“11岁的”。由“数词+连字符+名词(+连字符+形容词)”构成的复合形容词,有两个特点:一是数词、名词和形容词之间要用连字符;二是数词后的名词用单数形式。

afraid形容词,意为“害怕的;畏惧的”,是一个表语形容词,常见用法有:
① be afraid of sth. 害怕某物/事
Most of the girls are afraid of snakes. 大多数女孩怕蛇。
② be afraid to do sth. 害怕做某事,指因害怕而不敢去做。
She is afraid to stay at home alone. 她害怕独自待在家里。
Don’t be afraid of asking for help. 不要害怕求助。
④ “be afraid + (that+) 从句”意为“恐怕……”。
I’m afraid (that) he can’t come. 恐怕他不能来了。
③ be afraid of doing sth 意为“害怕做某事”,指担心或担忧做某事会引起某种后果。
7. He’s like a father to me.
like 此处用作介词,意为“像”,其后可接名词或代词作宾语。常用短语:look like意为“看起来像”。
She is very like her mother. 她很像她的妈妈。
It looks like a picture. 它看上去像一幅画。
拓展:① What is sb./sth. like 意为“某人/某物是什么样的?”
What is your brother like 你哥哥是个怎样的人?
② be like “像”,多指性格、品质方面像,也可指外貌上“像”。
The girl is like her sister. They’re both outgoing.
这个女孩像她的姐姐。她们都很外向。
③ look like “看起来像”,指外观或外貌上“像”。
The cloud looks like a dog. 这朵云看上去像一只狗。
8. Many of the students and villagers never leave the village.
(1) many of ...意为“……中的许多”,of后接代词的宾格、可
数名词复数。接名词时,这个名词前必须有形容词性物主
代词、名词所有格或定冠词修饰,它表示一种部分与整体
的关系。
Many of us like the film. 我们中的许多人喜欢这部电影。
Many of her friends are girls. 她的朋友中有许多是女孩。
When did you leave Shanghai 你什么时候离开上海的?
(2) leave此处用作及物动词,意为“离开”。
拓展:① “leave for +地点”表示“动身去某地”。
Next week Alice is leaving for London. 下周爱丽丝要去伦敦了。
② “leave +地点+ for +地点”表示“离开某地去某地”。

dream 此处用作可数名词,意为“梦想;睡梦”。
Everyone has a dream. 每个人都有梦想。

She often dreams at night. 她晚上经常做梦。
② dream of/about 梦想;梦见
Many people dream of becoming famous. 很多人梦想成名。

10. Can their dream come true
(1) come true 实现;成为现实
Your dream doesn’t always come true.
你的梦想并不是总能实现。

(2) true 形容词,意为“真的;符合事实的”。
This is a true story. 这是一个真实的故事。

我的音频是嵌入式音频,所以老师们在使用我的课件的时候,不需要把课件和听力音频放到同一文件夹中,只需要课件就可以了。播放听力时,只需在其他任何地方按鼠标左键就可以了(不要点击小喇叭),就跟其他动画操作一样。用翻页笔的老师,只需要按翻页笔的“下一页”即可;如果想再听一遍,先按翻页笔的“上一页”,再按“下一页”就可以重复听。听完后如果按“下一页”,答案就会出现。
简单的一句话,我的课件中要播放听力,只需下翻页就可以。跟其他动画操作一样。
