Your emotion helps you make sense of the world. At the core of an emotion is a subjective experience of the valence of it- what emotion scientists call “affect”(情感). Generally speaking affect is what we are most focused on. Do you have chocolate cake in front of you That's good! Do you see a spider on the table! That's bad!
Your affective reactions tell you which experiences are desirable, and which aren't, but the total emotional experience includes all you do and think. You can learn a lot by observing and describing them. You can also learn a lot by appreciating their secret life.
The problem is: the affective features of emotions tend to dominate. Our subjective valence of emotion is almost all we can see. When emotions are only about what is pleasant or unpleasant in subjective experience right now, the more important features of emotion disappear.
If you can slow down and expand; if you stop running or clinging (沉浸其中) and adopt a sense of curiosity,
emotions become more subtle and different. When fear comes up, don't walk away so that fear dissipates. Instead
stay. Allow yourself to feel the nervousness, the sweating and everything else that comes along with it. It is one of the hardest things to do in life, but it's also one of the most rewarding. If you run, you are telling basic parts of your brain, “I guess this threat really was real. I better stay away from it.” You are training yourself to fear, regardless of that situation. If you cling, you are saying,“Escape from this emotion is a threat", and since it is not a happy experience, happiness slips through your hands like sand
Note that you can not fool yourself. Just allow the full emotion. You will never enter into their secret life until you stop running or clinging. To control your life, you need to actively train your emotions to be your ally(同盟).Observe. Describe. Appreciate. Do that and you may find you have allies for healthy living that were there all along.
Why does the author mention "chocolate cake” and “spider" in paragrap1.
To explain the complex response of emotions. B. To show the subjective experience of emotions.
C.To indicate the goodness and badness of the world. D.To emphasize the significance of emotions in life.
29.What is the consequence if you just focus on your present feelings
A. The present feelings are less obvious.
B. The subjective emotions are less powerful
C.The overall picture of emotions is easier to ignore.
D.The observation and description of emotions are easier.
30.What does the underlined word “dissipates" in Paragraph 4.probably refer to
A. Deepens. B. Spreads. C.Disappears. D. Sticks.
31. What is the text mainly about
A. The secret of emotions. B. The subjective experience.
C.The importance of allies in life. D. Magical functions of emotions.

Brain aneurysms(脑动脉瘤)affect about one in every 50 Americans and can lead to serious medical emergencies, including stroke, brain damage and death if they burst. Existing treatment options are limited and often invasive(扩散),and surgical outcomes can vary widely from person to person.
Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) have become the first team to produce a living, bioprinted aneurysm outside of the human body, perform a medical procedure on it and observe it respond and heal as it would in an actual human brain.
“While there are a lot of promising treatment options, some still have a long way to go,"said Moya, the project's principal investigator. One common treatment is“clipping"-attaching a metal clip to the base of the aneurysm to redirect blood flow away and keep it from bursting. The procedure is highly invasive, requiring surgeons to open up the skull and expose the brain. A more common and less invasive treatment is the metal coiling (缠绕) approach. The downside to “coiling" is that success is highly dependent on a variety of factors, including the geometry of the patient's blood vessels, which differ from one person to the next, researchers said. n何g Animal models aren't necessarily the best way to try out these options, as they lack direct observation of treatment effects and have uncontrollable aneurysm geometries. Unlike animal models, LLN's platform allows scientists to directly measure the liquid.
To take some of the guesswork out of aneurysm treatments, Hynes, the original principal investigator, realized researchers would need a way to validate more predictive 3D models that take patient geometry into account by bioprinting with human cells.
By combining the 3D-printed platform with computational models, researchers said they've developed a potential tool for surgeons to pre-select the best coil types, and perform“testruns’ of procedures before attempting them on the human patient “What's exciting is that this platform copies the actual blood vessels and also is strong enough to handle a coiling procedure. This makes it ideal to be used as a training platform for surgeons."Moya said
In addition to a test bed for surgical training, researchers said the platform has potential for improving the understanding of basic biology and the post-surgery healing response. While early results are promising, the researchers cautioned there's a long way to go before the platform sees application in the clinical environment.
32. What is the living, bioprinted aneurysm
A. It's a set of surgical instrument. B. It's a tissue transplanted in human body.
C. It's a training platform for surgeons . D.It's a treatment option for brain aneurysms.
33.What's the disadvantage of the "coiling’ treatment option
A. The procedure is highly invasive.
B. It may lead to serious medical emergencies,
C.Surgical outcomes vary widely from person to person.
D.. It completely depends on the geometry of the patient's blood vessels.
34.What makes animal models imperfect to try out the treatment options
A. It’s difficult to observe and gather data on them
B.They are not strong enough to handle a coiling procedure.
C.Their aneurysm geometries are totally-different from human's.
D. The potential response to the treatment options are uncontrollable.
35. What can we learn from the last paragraph
A.The previous experiments have been in vain.
B.The platform has improved the understanding of basic biology.
C.Brain aneurysms can be cured without any risk with the platform.
D.More needs to be done before applying the platform in the clinical environment.
