Unlike early space travelers, today’s astronauts enjoy various freeze-dried meals, snacks, and desserts that can be commonly found on Earth However, delicious as the food is, it pales in comparison with a freshly-cooked meal. N astronauts at the International Space Station(ISS)may soon be able to have freshly-baked cookies to eat, thanks to a newly-acquired space oven.
The oven built by NanoRacks—a space company that helps develop experiments for the ISS-was sent to the ISS on November 2, 2019. It’s specially designed to withstand the space station’s microgravity environment. Mary Murphy, a NanoRacks manager who helped develop the space oven, says the biggest challenge was keeping the cookie dough from floating inside the oven.
To solve the hurdle, the inventors decided to keep the cookie dough inside a sealed tray that can be placed directly into the oven. Once the cookies arebaked, the plate is automatically transported to an integrated cooling vent(出口)which can only be accessed once the treats are at room temperature.
Murphy says, “What is so interesting about this is that it’ll be the first time that something will be baked in space. What will the cookies look like?while we don’t know for sure how the experiment will turn out,we’re looking forward to finding out and learning how to best bake food products in apace. ”
While the cookies’appearance will be revealed soon, their taste will remain a mystery for some time That’s because the freshly-baked space treats will be returned to Earth to undergo testing to ensure they’re safe to consume.
8. Why is the cookie dough kept inside a sealed tray when baked in the oven
A. To make it baked more easily.
B. To prevent it floating in the oven.
C. To make it convenient to take out.
D. To connect it with a cooling vent.

Step into Moving to Mars, an exhibition of the Mars mission and colony design at London’s design Museum, and immediately you have good reasons for not moving there.
Frightening glowing wall-texts announce that Mars wasn’t made for you; that there is no life and little precious water; that, dressed in a spacesuit, you will never touch, taste or smell the planet you now call “home” AS Lisa Grossman wrote for New Scientist a couple of years ago, “What’s different about mars is that there is nothing to do there except try not to die.”
It is an odd beginning for such a celebratory exhibition, but it provides a valuable, dark background against which the rest of the show can sparkle(闪耀)—a show that is, as its chief manager Justin remarks, “not about Mars this is an exhibition about people. ”
Moving along, there is a quick yet clear flash through what the science-fiction writer Robinson calls “the history of Mars in the human mind”. A Babylonian clay tablet and a Greek vase speak to early ideas about the planet. a poster for the original Total Recall film reminds us of Mars’s psychological threat.
The main part of the show is our current plans for the Red Planet. There are real spacesuits and models of 3 D-printed Martian settlements and suitable clothing and furniture. Mission architectures and engineering sketches line the walls. Real hammers meant for the International Space Station are wall-mounted beside a low-gravity table that has yet to leave, and may indeed never leave. Earth.
This, of course is the great strength of approaching science through design: reality and assumptions can be given equal visual weight drawing us into an informed conversation about what it is that we actually want from a future on mars.
12. What is the text mainly about
A. How to move to Mars.
B. How to survive on Mars.
C. What pi reparations we made for Mars.
D. What the exhibition of Mars truly tells us.
13. What can we learn from Lisa Grossman
A. It’s impossible to live on Mars.
B. It’s no good settling on Mars.
C. You have nothing to do living on Mars.
D. You can live on Mars in your spacesuit.
14. What does the exhibition focus on
A. The current plans for Mars.
B. The advantages of living on mars.
C. The early ideas about mars.
D. The history of Mars in the human mind.
15. What does the author want to tell us in the last paragraph
A. An experience.
B. An opinion.
C. A fantasy.
D. A solution.

Through our lives, we can gain a lot and lose so much. But being honest should always be with us, as honesty is always regarded as a virtue. every time I talk about the topic, something crowds in my mind as if it has just happened.
I was 16 when one morning, Dad told me I could drive him to Mijas and then take the car to a nearby garage to get it serviced. At that time, I had just passed the driving test, and I hardly had a chance to use the car, so i said yes without hesitation.
I drove my father to Mijas, promising to pick him up again at 4 pm, and then I went to a nearby garage, and put the car there. Since I had several hours to spare. I decided to go to a movie theater near the garage to see a movie. However, I was so absorbed in the plot of the movie that I forgot the time. When the last movie finished, I looked at my watch: 6 pm. I was two hours late.
I thought my father would be very angry if he knew what I was doing. And he would never let me drive again So I decided to make up an excuse Then, I drove to the appointed place, and my father was sitting in a corner, waiting patiently. I first apologized for being late, and then told him that I wanted to get there as soon as possible, but that something was wrong with some of the main parts of the car.
I would never forget the way he looked at me “I’m very disappointed that you thought you had to lie to me, Jason. ” My father looked at me again and said, “When you didn’t show up on time, I called the garage and asked if there was anything wrong. They told me you never picked up the car. So, you see, I know there’s nothing wrong with the car at all. ”

第二节
One possible version :
Paragraph 1:
a wave of guilt swept over me and I had to admit the fact that I had gone to the movies and that was the real reason why I was late. My father listened intently, and a wave of sadness passed over his face. He said, “I am very angry, not for you, but for myself. You see, I’ve learned that I failed as a father. If you still feel like you have to lie to me after all these years, I failed because I raised a son who couldn’t even tell his father the truth and I’m going to walk home and reflect on some of the things I’ve done wrong over the years.”
Paragraph 2
“But father, it’s exactly eighteen miles home from here, and it’s dark. You can’t walk back,” I begged. My protests, my apologies, and whatever I said were in vain. I had to let my father walk out of the car and was about to learn the most painful lesson of my life. My father began to walk along the dusty road. I quickly jumped into the car and followed him closely, hoping he would be kind enough to stop I prayed all the way and told him how sad and sorry I was. But he took no notice of me, and continued to be silent and thoughtful. I followed him for the whole eighteen miles. Watching my father suffer so much, both physically and emotionally, was the saddest and most painful experience I had ever faced. But it was also the most successful lesson of my life and I never lied to him again.
