Step I激活认知
活动一:Discussion
Before writing, ask students to discuss the following questions with their partner:
Which disaster do you want to write about
What advice would you give on surviving it
【设计意图】通过 Discussion活动,教师让学生从个人的经验和认知能力出发,以结对活动的方式选择要写的安全手册的主题和安全逃生建议,激发学生的写作兴趣。
Step Ⅱ 学习理解
活动二:Read for writing
Read the brochure about surviving an earthquake on Page 41.Then underline what you should do when you’re indoors, outdoors and in a car.
活动三:Focus on structure and language
1. Read the brochure again,Complete the table.
Suggested answers: Situation 1: If you re indoors: Don’t run, but protect yourself. Drop, cover and hold on. Situation 2: If you’re outdoors: Move away from anything that can fall. Find a shelter where you can stay. Wait before moving to another place. Situation 3: If you’re in a car: Stop. Stay seated. Drive carefully when the quake stops.
2. Look at the Sentence Builder. Write a few sentences that you may want to include in your brochure about Dos and Don’ts for surviving a particular disaster.
【设计意图】学生通过阅读地震逃生手册,从中获取内容、写作结构、语言特征,然后运用祈使句说明通到自然灾害时的注意事项,为本课写作奠定基础。
Step Ⅲ 实战演练:
活动四:Outlining
Use the structure in Activity 3 to prepare an outline for your brochure.
活动五:Drafting
Use your outline and the Writing Help to write your first draft.
活动六:Editing
Edit your brochure in pairs. Then share what you have written in class.
【设计意图】本环节设计三个活动:Outlining,Drafting,Editing。这三个活动逐步引导学生写作,在写作过程中又渗透了写作策略指导。该环节不仅解决了学生的燃眉之急,而且培养了学生写作策略意识。
