Step I学习理解
活动一:感知与注意
1. Brainstorm.
Ask students to read the profile and discuss what is in a personal profile.
2. Discussion
T: You are going to write a personal profile to join a reading club.Discuss in pairs what kind of information is needed.
【设计意图】让学生从个人的经验和认知能力出发,以结对的方式讨论个人档案需要包含的内容,激发他们的写作兴趣。
活动二: Read for writing
Ask students to read the profile on Page 18 and underline the answers to the following questions.
1. What is included in the personal profile
2. What reasons does Happy Hermione give for joining the club
3. What expressions are used by Happy Hermione to express her opinions about the first book in the Harry Potter series
4. What are her favourite types of books
5. What are her favorite books
6. How does Happy Hermione feel about reading
7. What are the ways Happy Hermione expresses her likes about something
Suggested answers: 1 Happy Hermione’s user name, age, location, self-introduction, favourite types of books, favorite books, reason for joining the reading club. 2 She thinks it is fun to hear about new books that other people enjoy. 3 The expressions she used are “the best”, “the author did an amazing job”. 4 Fantasy and travel. 5 She likes all the books in the Harry Potter series. 6 She feels reading is an exciting experience. 7(1) My favourite subject is English. (2) I love exploring new places. (3) I also enjoy history. (4) I’ve always loved to read!
【设计意图】让学生读一篇原汁原味的英文个人档案,让学生了解英文个人档案的格式、语言使用、语篇布局等信息,为自己写个人英文档案形成轮廓和框架。
活动三:Focus on structure language
1. Ask students to list information that is included in a personal profile.
2. Ask students to look at the Sentence Builder on Page 19 and write 2-3 sentences about the important details they want to include in their profiles. Ask them to use the Sentence Builder to help them.
活动四:Compose your writing
1. Outlining
Complete an outline of your profile based on Activities 3 and 4.
2. Drafting.
Use your outline and the Writing Help to write your first draft.

活动五:Critical thinking
Ask students to edit their profiles in groups and assess the profiles according to the checklist:
Is the writing well organized
Does each paragraph include the necessary details
Are there any grammar,spelling or punctuation errors
【设计意图】在学生完成初稿后,让学生对他们的文章进行修改,提供评价清单,帮助他们对文章进行客观评价,提高学生对文章质量的认识。

活动六:Presenting
Ask each group to recommend a student’s writing. Let them share what they have written in class.
【设计意图】在课堂上展示学生的范文,一方面能够提高学生的学习兴趣,使他们感受到学习的成就感,另一方面为其他学生提供参考,发现自己作品的不足,有助于他们改进自己的文章。
