It was a Saturday afternoon. The color of the sky was changing-first light gray, then dark gray, and finally dark. The wind was blowing hard, and the trees were swaying in the strong wind. Then it was raining cats and dogs. Soon, a lot of puddles appeared on the ground.
On such a stormy afternoon, my mother took my five-year-old brother, Christopher, and me to a big new toy store she had read about in the newspaper. “So many toys,’’ the advertisement had said in flashy colors, “that we had to get a huge warehouse to accommodate them all!’’
Christopher and I couldn't be more excited. We ran across the parking lot, through the cold rain, as fast as our little legs could carry us. We left our mother outside to battle with the frustrating umbrella, which never worked when she needed it. “Christine! Take care of your younger brother! ’’Mother shouted at the top of her voice.
“Christine!I'm going to find the Lego section(高积木玩具区)!There's a new pirate ship I want,and I have four dollars!Maybe I can buy it!"Christopher exclaimed and ran away excitedly. I only half heard his words. I made a right turn and,to my wide-eyed delight,found myself in the midst of the Barbie(芭比娃娃)World.
I was studying a Barbie doll and doing some simple mathematical calculation in my head when I suddenly heard an ear-splitting clap of thunder from the storm outside. I jumped, dropping the doll on the floor e lights flickered (闪烁) once and went out, covering everything in a blanket of blackness. Thunder continued to shake the sky and lightning illuminated the store casting a shadow on my mind.

I'm writing this email to introduce the annual activity "Campus Culture Week"in our school to you.
The “Campus Culture Week” lasted from March 18th to 22nd this year in our school gym. All the works of calligraphy photography and painting created by the students and teachers were on display. Some lectures on Chinese culture were given from which we benefited a lot. Undoubtedly not only can this activity enrich our school life, but it can also offer us a good opportunity to learn more about our culture.

“Oh no”, I thought, “where's Christopher ”Scared, I froze, overcome with the need to see my brother and make sure he was all right. I ran up and down along the aisles through the blackness, panic filling my mind and making it difficult for me to breathe. I knocked the displayed candy and tripped over toys, all the while frantically calling my brother’s name Anxious as I was, I could barely see his figure. Tears of frustration and fear trickled down my face, but I continued running.
Paragraph 2:
“Christine, I'm here”. I felt a thrill of excitement-there in the dark Lego aisle I found Christopher. He was standing alone, perfectly still, clutching the pirate ship. I began to cry out with relief, throwing my arms around him tightly. He hugged me back, saying, I knew if I waited here, Christine, you would be able to find me. Then, I held his hand and we went to find our mother, who must be desperately searching the store for us.
