知识目标:Enable students to master the usage of V.-ing form as attributive and predicative.
能力目标:Improve students’ ability to dialectical thinking by discussing related questions each other.
情感目标:Enable students to know more about messages posted by some exchange students on an Internet forum.
教学重难点
教学重点:Guide students to understand the function and meaning of V.-ing form used as attributive and predicative by combining real language environment.
教学难点:Guide students to describe different festival activities and impersonal feelings by correctly using the structure in the module.

教学过程:
一、Pre-class
1. Greeting
2. Leading-in
学生活动:让学生们读下面的句子并讨论斜线部分的功能和意思。
· These lanterns are amazing.
· During the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, families gather to admire the shining moon and enjoy delicious mooncakes.
· Families celebrating the Lunar New Year can enjoy exciting dragon dances and carnivals together.
活动目的:引入本节课要讲的内容,吸引学生们的注意。
2、 While-class
1. 学生活动:
Read the following messages posted by some exchange students on an Internet forum. Underline the-ing form used as the attribute or the predicative.
Today 9:05 amSunnyli Discussion: Which festival is the best Rio Carnival! I spent a really fun day there with my friends. It was great fun walking along the streets, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere! The performances were just amazing.
Today 9:11 amVincent1119 The Spring Festival in China, especially the dinner on the Lunar New Year's Eve! All family members get together. And I get lucky money in red envelopes from my parents and relatives, so it's always an exciting time for me.
Today 10:11 amWizard_Oz Perhaps Thanksgiving. What could be better Families getting together and eating delicious food, people watching sports games on TV, friends laughing and talking, etc. Plus there's Black Friday, if shopping is your thing.
Today 10:24 amCooper_08 I think it's Christmas. I just can't take my eyes off the shining lights on the Christmas trees everywhere. Lots of smiling faces, and people singing Christmas carols and wishing each other "Merry Christmas!"
活动目的: 通过讨论,让学生们对ing形式作定语和表语有更深刻的理解,同时,也让学生们清楚不懂的地方,为接下来教师的讲解做好铺垫。
2. 教师活动:
动词-ing形式分为动名词和现在分词两类。动名词兼有动词和名词、形容词和副词的特征,在句中作定语、表语,补足语和状语。
1)- ing形式作定语可以表示
  动名词和现在分词都可以作定语,但有所区别。
(1)动名词作定语表示被修饰词的某种性能或用途,相当于名词,for+doing sth.。
No one is allowed to speak aloud in the reading room (the room for reading).
谁都不准在阅览室里大声说话。
(2)现在分词作定语时,它和被修饰词之间有逻辑上的主动关系。表示所修饰词正在进行的动作,相当于一个定语从句。
The boy playing football on the playground is my younger brother.
The boy that/who is playing football on the playground is my younger brother.
在操场上踢足球的那个男孩是我的弟弟。
  注:一般来讲,动名词 (短语) 作表语,主表可互换,即:Playing all kinds of music is our job.
  现在分词作表语,表明主语的性质和特征,主表不可互换。
2)作表语的动词-ing形式包括现在分词和动名词。
(1)现在分词作表语,往往具有形容词的性质,说明主语的性质、特征等。
The argument is very convincing.
这个论点很令人信服。
He remained standing beside the table.
他依然站在桌旁。
(2)动名词作表语多说明主语的内容,表示笼统的、抽象的概念。
主语和表语可以换位。
Her job is teaching you English.
=Teaching you English is her job.
她的工作是教你们英语。
互动目的:具体讲解本堂课的语法知识点,并对学生们进行答疑解惑。
三、After-class
教师对本堂课所讲的知识做一下总结。
四、Summary
总结课上所学。
作业布置:
La Tomatina is a festival that takes place in the Spanish town Bunol every August. I think many food festivals are because people are just eating. However, this festival is because people don't actually eat the tomatoes. Instead, they throw them at each other!
The number of people part in this tomato fight can reach up to 20,000, and it is a very fight that lasts for a whole hour. The thing is how clean Bunol is after the tomatoes are washed away after the fight. This is because the juice from tomatoes is really good for making surfaces clean!
