教学过程
Step I 学习理解
活动一:感知与注意
Show students the following apps and let them tell the names, try to talk about the functions of these apps with their deskmate.
【设计意图】在学习之前,展示一些常见apps图标,让学生直观认识并且简单说明它们的功能。
活动二:获取与梳理
1. First listening for gist. ( SB,P31,Part 1)
First go through the questions with students and make sure they understand their tasks and then play the tape for students to listen and get what speakers are talking about and fill in the blanks in Part 1.
2. Second listening for specific information. (SB, P31, Part 2)
Listen to the conversation again and judge sentences are true or false.
3. Third listening for key sentences and words. (SB, P31, Part 3)
(1)Ask students to go through the sentences by themselves and help them understand the sentences.
(2)Let students listen to the conversation again and tick the sentences they hear. Then let them underline the words used to express predictions, guesses, and beliefs.
(3)Ask students to check the answers in pairs.
(4)Play the tape again for students to check the answers.
(5)Share the answers with whole class.
(6)Lead students to think of more words like these. For example:
It could be....
I don’t doubt that"…/I assume..../I hold a belief that....
Can you make a guess at....
【设计意图】通过第一次听获得大意和关键词;第二次听,辨别句子对错,并改正错误;第三次听让学生根据录音选择听到的句子,并且判断出表示预测、猜测的单词。最后补充一些表示猜测的词汇和句型让学生加以学习和记忆。
Step II 应用实践(Role-play)
活动三:描述与阐释
1. Get ready for the role-play. Help students deal with necessary vocabulary and functions.
2. Let students read and role-play the conversation with their deskmate. Then change their roles to read the conversation again.
【设计意图】让学生学习两个不同app的功能,同桌两人积极参与对话,然后互换角色再进行一遍对话,这样练 习可以让学生熟悉所有对话内容,避免了只练习一个角色的单调性和偏差,满足学生想了解另一个角色内容的愿望。
Step III 迁移与创新
活动四:Asking for clarification
1. Lead students to find useful sentences to express predictions and guesses from Part 3 & 4.

2. Choose several apps in Activity 1 and use sentences above to make an interview in groups of four.
Situation:
A is a journalist and B, C, D are watching their phones on the street. A goes towards them and introduces himself, then asks them their opinions about some useful apps.
A: Hey, guys. Sorry to interrupt you. I m a journalist and I want to make an interview about your opinions about some useful apps.
B: Sure, go ahead.
A: So please look at these apps,which do you think would be more popular or useful Why
B: Let me see. Er.... I hold a belief that Wechat would be the most popular because it is used widely when people contact each other. You could send text, pictures, sound, documents to others and even you could chat online with this app. It is very convenient for us to use it in our daily life. I guess more and more foreigners would use it.
A: Great! Your opinion is reasonable. Thank you. What’s your favourite app,C
C: Well, I suppose Meituan would be good. We could book tickets for movies, train or plane and tourist attractions at a low price. Also we could book hotel and food ahead of time. We can save time and money with this app.
A: Yes. You’re right. Group purchasing is becoming fashion nowadays. I always do that on line. So what’s your opinion, D
D: My guess would be Douyin. There is no doubt that more and more people like to share many things with this app. You could make some interesting videos and even do business with it.
