教学过程
Step I 学习理解
活动一:感知与注意(Match and tick)(SB,P26,Part 1)
1. Ask students to look at the four pictures and guess what they are.
2. Ask students to look at the online activities in the box and match them with the pictures.
Suggested answers :
Picture A: stream movies and music
Picture B: write a blog post
Picture C: use a search engine
Picture D: chat online
3. Ask students to tick the pictures of the activities that they like to do when they are online.
4. Brainstorm. (Group work)
Ask students to work in groups of four, and talk about the online activities that they like to do when they are online.
【设计意图】在单元听说活动之前,挑选在网络上经常做的四个活动,提供图片,让学生对图片内容进行匹配,然后让学生谈论自己比较常做的网络活动,这样可以有效地激活本单元主题语境背景常识。
活动二:获取与梳理
Complete the table. (SB,P26,Part 2)
(1)Go through the table with students and let them know what they need take down while listening.

(2)Play the tape for students to listen and try to write down some information they hear in the conversation.
(3)Ask students to check the answers in pairs.

2. Note-taking. (SB, P26, Part 3)
(1)Go through the three sentences with students and ask them to try to predict the answers.
(2)Play the tape for students to listen again and fill in the blanks to complete the sentences.
(3) Ask students to check the answers in pairs. If necessary, play the tape again and check the answers.
【设计意图】学生通过听Sam和他同学Anna、Paul、Joe关于网络习惯的调查对话,完成课本第26页第2部分表格,获取Amia、PaUl、Joe三名同学每天在网络上花费的时间、主要活动以及使用网络的原因等信息。完成课本第26页第3部分填空,学习博客、搜索引擎等名词的定义信息。这两个听力活动有助于学生获取单元主题相关信息,学习相关语言,引发学生思考。
Step II 应用实践
活动三: Learning strategy training (SB,P26,Part 4)
1. 策略名称:
Listen for definitions.
2. 策略介绍:
When you hear a word you don’t know, pay attention to the next sentence or two to see if there is a definition. Definitions often begin with words like “it’s like”,“that is”,or“for example”.
3. 策略训练: (SB,P26,Part 4)
Ask students to look at Activity 3 again and find out how the words in italics are defined. And then write them in the correct brackets.
Suggested answers :
A. Use simpler words. (a search engine)
B. Use an example. (a blog)
C. Compare to something. (stream)
【设计意图】发展学生运用学习策略的能力是提高学生学习能力的主要途径,是教学的重要内容,也是英语学科核心素养的重要组成部分。教师在教学中应重视对学生学习策略的培养,有意识地引导学生学习并尝试使用不同的学习策略,逐步形成适合自己的学习方法。
