How can computers and the Internet help us experience music differently
【设计意图】通过Brainstorm活动,引发学生对主题的思考,激活学生的背景知识和相关经验。
活动二: Read for details
1.Scan and circle the information in the text.
(1)The man who came up with the idea for a virtual choir.
(2)The place where he studied musical composition.
(3)The name of his song.
2.Read the text again and answer the questions.
(1) How is a virtual choir different from other choirs Who can take part in it
(2) What caused Eric Whitacre to fall in love with classical music What gave him the inspiration to make his first virtual choir
3.Find the numbers and dates to fill in the timeline.
2 January 19 Eric Whitacre was born.
19 -1995 Whitacre attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
19 Whitacre got a master’s degree from the Juilliard School in New York.
2009 Whitacre first got the idea for the virtual choir. His first virtual choir used singers from different countries; received views on the Internet.
